Great Battery in Our Z's

Just returned to PA from our winter in Florida. Since December 8th, the Z simply sat in our chilly PA garage, no start-ups, no battery chargers, nothin'. I just hit the ignition and she fired up like she had been driven just yesterday. That's awfully good for a car I bought in December '09, manufactured June '09. Yes, we gripe some about our Z's, but credit where credit is due. In all other respects, as well, mine has been virtually perfect.

yah, mine takes 4 AA's.

Mine has been through four winters in my garage with only a few starts to move the tires and still starts like a champ. It does turn over a bit slow the first time though.

I wonder if I should change my aftermarket batteries back to oem now :stirthepot:

It might not be so much the battery is great. The compartment the battery is in helps protect it from the direct heat of the engine which helps extend the battery's life.

For those of you that don't know this batteries are stronger in the winter than they are in the summer.

dont we have the extended storage setting somewhere in the fuse panel or thats a one time thing once removed at the dealer?

Really?? Wow... Mine dies in 2 weeks and half. So even in the winter, I have to take it out for a spin once every 2 weeks... Granted I have aftermarket audio system installed. Guess it's the capacitor suck out the battery life...

Bit premature to say that it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Give it 6 or 7 years...if it still performs....then you can gloat.

Way ahead of you guys... had mine replaced this past Fall well before the first cold snap. This battery doesn't last nearly as long as the first one in my '03 Z.

Mine died after 3 years.

I replaced my battery a couple months ago After two and a half years of ownership (but it is a 2009). It was down on fluid and I bet if I had serviced it twice, it would still be working. I've been to the track multiple times and the intense heat may have a connection.

Moral: check your battery fluid occasionally.
