Trading IN Question?
Hey Guys,
I was wondering if it is possible to trade in the car you have, but keep the rims when switching out to a used car. I want to keep my rims, so I was wondering; if I have a 04 350z, and was trading it in for an 04 350zr could I keep the aftermarket rims on my z and switch them to the zr. Has a dealership performed this for anyone? Did it cost more to do so? Do I really have to trade my car in as it is, or is it up to the dealer? P.S. I know there is a lot of questions here but I really want to keep my rims on my car so i was wondering if anyone has ever done this? Thanks In Advance!!!!! |
anything is negotiable.

Ok thanks for the input Mike!!! Im just glad that it is possible. I will just have to be firm on my decision.

Yeah you can negotiate practically anything. However, If you were to take off the rims you love and put on some cheaper ones (so at least the car is driveable at trade in time), you'd likely get a better trade value.

The dealer would probably prefer the stockers anyway. This should be a slam dunk.

It has been my experience when trading that they do not like aftermarket anything. They would much prefer stock. When my family owned dealerships, we always wanted trades as close to stock as possible, we did not want to be responsible for any aftermarket issues.
Not to mention the fact that everyone likes something different, and at least stock is well...stock. |
Just a little FYI.....I had actually traded my 8 with a **** ton of stuff on it modded. From rims to aero pieces, full exhaust (H/HFC/CBE) intake, interior, you name it! I took about a $1k hit for it too. They wanted all the stock stuff and I didn't have any of it. I ended up losing in the end.
