Hi everyone, quick qustion

Hello all, long time lurker, first time Z owner. I just had a question, I was looking at the ride height of my Nismo, and Im not sure if the car came with spring spacers or not, or if the dealer took them out. Admittedly, this is my first time buying a new car, so I dont know exactly what they look like. I took a pic, can someone confirm this either way so I can go raise hell?

Welcome! I see your pic showing what might be a spring spacer like when they transport a vehicle that wasn't removed I could be wrong can someone else chime in and make it clear.

i am no expert, but I agree. Looks like a shipping piece missed during the pdi.

Yes...Definitely. Take those off. Your car is likely riding like a truck..

Caravanshaka 07-20-2009 07:41 AM

agreed, definitely not supposed to be there. go raise hell

you might also want to check to see if they put locking lug nuts on the car, and if they did, make sure they are the right kind, with a flat washer on them. Many dealers have been putting the wrong ones on.

funny thing that so far most of this error's from the dealer not removing the shipping spacers has been to the Nismo's

Red370 12-21-2009 03:59 AM

can be taken off easily with a set of bolt cutters, just did it yesterday to my friends nismo, stupid dealer.

jack it up a lil bit and you can pop them off. or make the dealer do it.

after reading about all of the people that had at least some left in i'm surprised that my dealer removed all of mine properly.

I almost think they were left on some of the cars that were being tested by some of the mags that were getting poor (compared to standard 370Z) handling results on the NISMO. It would explain why the car seems to under-perform on some of the tests compared to it's configuration.

I'm sorry, but anyone that's EVER driven a car would notice this problem. It's like driving without springs. How can anyone think that's OK?

I have some theories, but I don't want to be insulting to the group here....:ugh2:

This is the second post on this in the last week. Sounds like dealers forgetting to remove these might be a small issue, and anyone who may be new to sports cars (i.e. doesnt really know how they should feel) may want to go check their own car as well.
