and sigh another side note thought on the z....a price drop ey?...
so now i need someone to tell me to wait incase this price drop happens in the US.
dont wanna spend so much money on a car to have it drop 5k when i want to sell it....if i ever do...

UNKNOWN_370 03-23-2013 09:25 PM

At this point... I would just wait. the last two years of a model is never good to buy unless you are getting large cash incentives or the car is being considered an instant classic.

SS_Firehawk 03-23-2013 09:45 PM

The last few years are the model are generally the best because they are considered the most reliable.

Minsu 03-24-2013 11:28 PM

has anyone heard of an update on the z price drop for the us yet?

It is not a touring model, or a sport model. Base all the way around.

Yeah, base as hell, no leather, no Bose, no heated seats even though it says it has it...
The ONLY thing it has is the reverse camera...
What a joke

Cmike2780 03-25-2013 06:38 AM

You're not gonna see any price drop in the US. Its just not gonna happen any time soon. They price it for specific markets and there are a whole mess of factors that determine the final price. Nissan North America will only follow lead if they see a large increase in sales. It's still kind of anyone's guess, how exactly Nissan Europe manages to sell it for that low a price without selling each one at a lost. The prices usually already reflect the lowest price to be competitive. Think of it this way, they sell a whole lot less GTR's and the price of that car has jumped almost every year.

:iagree:The deficit isn't high enough either. A loaded BRZ, which doesn't have a whole lot more than a base Z is $30,000. A base Z is $33,000. There's no need for the price drop.

Next gen though. I see a roll back happening on year one MSRP's.

I found the attachment before I was getting my Z. Seems like a lot of countries pay way more than us in North America.

Your post just yesterday:

hermmmmmm this is my take on the whole situation, you can blame whoever you might think is at fault sure, we can all do that. But you bought the car because you wanted a Z, this thread shows the true z enthusiast from the "i like how the z looks like" peeps. For me im pretty nonchalant about it when i first saw the price i was like awwwww shoot batman but after sitting on it and thinking about it and reading these posts i mean i bought my car for 32.5 OTD with 2k miles on it and im glad it had 2k miles on it b/c i would have felt worse stalling in a car that hasnt been broken in. so going to dealerships and nego with them for a new 2014 and prob only get the car price without tax to 28.5 at best but prob 29. and then NJ taxes and fees so around 32k....not worth the animosity or anger or time to frustrate on it. honestly italy you would at best pay about 500-1000 less if you were to get the 14

its funny how much your opinion has changed on the whole price thing... to the point where you say people who are mad about loosing money are not z enthusiast.

question for you, how many z's have you owned? didn't you buy your car used? buying a used car you have no reason to be mad about a price change..

italy, calm ur pepperoni nips brutha, and i could have sworn i said i wasnt mad about the price change, lets not get mad on people on the forums b/c you got butt hurt, and yea you can dig up old posts and say omg how can your mind change, yea minds do change and mind changed what can you do about it? thats how i felt then and this is how i feel now. and fine ill retract the comment on saying people who are butthurt by the price drop are not z enthusiasts. fine. anything else you need to say?

peleincubus 07-27-2013 04:16 PM

I think everyone would feel much better if they would donate $100 each to peleincubus for his Z fund. Kinda like a sponsor.

If you need an example as why to feel sorry for me I have lived with my ex girlfriend for the last 9 months. She is a crazy Latina that is impossible to reason with.

Sigh.

: )

Minsu 07-27-2013 04:20 PM

pele... i freakin feel your pain brutha, these girls are so damn stubborn sometimes. I just tell her i gotta go play so i can cool off but when i get back....yep attitude still there.
how do you do it man

im not mad at anyone on the forum, I was simply pointing out that you were concerned about paying to much for a z just a few months ago and now ur mind changed. people do change their minds all the time, nothing wrong with that. what I had a issue with was ur comment about being enthusiasts. I was just pointing out that you cant judge someones love for cars by getting mad at a manufacturer for killing the value of their car. no need to get butt hurt for me just giving my opinion about what u had said.. anything else you need to say?

Minsu 07-28-2013 07:39 AM

like i said ill retract my comment on the enthusiast part? You sir love confrontations.

 for retracting ur comment..

I don't love confrontations, I just voice my opinion. I don't take much seriously on the internet being that its hard to tell how a comment is meant being that it is being read instead of heard. so its easy to misunderstand the tone of the comment..

luigi90210 07-29-2013 04:00 AM

honestly i dont really care too much about resale value since i bought my Z because i liked the way the car looked and the fact that it looked rare but honestly, i dont want it to drop to compete with the BRZ/FRS folk because i dont want to see 370zs driving all over the place like i do with the FRS/BRZ and Mustangs...

:iagree: Couldn't care less about the price change (though I wish they'd give me a rebate -.-) but for the fact that a bunch of kids will be driving the car now.

NOW LET ME CLARIFY - I don't have anything against 18 yr olds who can somehow afford the car on merit (saved up for down payment since they were 16 or what have you, lawn mowing money... etc.) What I DO have a problem with are the entitled little ***** where mommy and daddy bought them a fast car and now their dicks are all hardon to start racing everybody.

I doubt that you will, and I doubt that price difference was a huge detractor with used, low mileage models available

me neither. i bought the car for me to enjoy for a long time, not to sell.

if im thinking about $, normal folk cars like ours Z's are terrible investments anyway. i would just keep the money in the bank.

LMAO, i am the 18 year old(19 now and turning 20 soon) who saved up enough money to put it down on the car, but i know exactly what you mean

i know a 16 year old who has a 350z daddy bought him and he acts like his **** dont stink because he has the fastest car at school

maybe, i know a bunch of people who didnt even consider the 370z because of its new price(most of those people were surprised to hear that a used base 370z would go for 25k) so they might have considered it if it was in the same price bracket as the genesis coupe 2.0t, FRS/BRZ, v6 mustang, ect. brand new

90 ST 07-29-2013 02:48 PM

Not sure how it was in the U.S. but when the 370Z came out it was almost 10k cheaper then the out going 350Z here, so i waited...

Anyone buying a brand new car as a future investment may have a bad plan from the start. I have assumed that the high resale value of our cars is due to the low new sales and therefore low number of used, unwrecked, Z's available.

Buying the car was never about long term resale value. It was about a car for me.

I remember when the new Z's came with small oil coolers and the older owners suddenly wanted free upgrades as well.

Anyone who bought a 2013 Z after this article was published can not say they did their due diligence about pricing.

I love my Z and I hope everyone else who owns one, does too.
