I would have just left the car their and found 3 more donuts to put on her instead of letting it drag on the ground. Also looks like your front driver side bumper is coming off?

I got a viper alarm system w/ a tilt sensor for this very reason. When you arm the car it calibrates itself to set the alarm off if it detects any change in the level/tilt of the vehicle.

At least down south (where you and i have cousin who lives in NC) you can apply and receive a gun permit here in NYC you go any where near a gun you get 4 years in jail! I was thinking about getting a tilt sensor alarm 2 days before this happened but something told me not to because i know if that thing goes off i go off and that equals jail time for me which is sad when your just trying to protect something that costs $31,864.14. Got to formulate a plan to protect my property with out having to ruin someone.:shakes head:

The problem with wheel locks is this Sunex 2840 Sunex Sockets

Most wheel thieves carry one with them, your locks will only slow them down a few minutes, I have seen one guy on you tube that put a tow chain and lock thru all 4 mag wheels every night.

I hate to say it but living where you do , your really better getting something that they will leave alone and something you really don't have to worry about getting stolen or damaged while being parked or simply driving in NYC traffic.

On a trip to NYC in my beat up old nissan frontier pickup , I can remember being hit or pushed to the side by a lot taxi cabs in the city, at least 5 times in 3 days, so I can't imagine driving something nice and brand new in that city, in a short tme any decent car will turn to a POS there. Just look at whats parked on the street, slowly your car will turn into one of these.

Your really better off with something like a stripped down automatic versa or a used sentra etc, for NYC.

The other factor is that this will definitly effect your insurance, watch them drop you during the 6 month period, unless you move the car or get something else, right now you are a hi risk for them.

Arrrg, heartbreaking stuff man. So sorry to see that happen but its nice to see you're in good spirits.

Like many of you, it wouldn't be a pretty sight if I was able to catch 1 or 2 guys in the act. I know many feel its just metal etc etc but its the principle, the violation and the fact that I work hard for my stuff.

Sounds like your insurance will be taking care of you properly

Yea man that's what i was thinking but my money is short and the car is new so i don't think i should have any problems with them fixing it brand new. Yea i need a whole new bumper any way because the milk bandits didn't balance the car properly so the whole left side bumper and wheel well is bent.:shakes head:

I just had a genius idea. But it will never happen. But it's still cool to think about. So someone develops a super sticky adhesive that goes on car wheels and you can turn the adhesive on or off with your car alarm. So when it's on, if someone sticks their hands on your rims, they are stuck! If the rip their hands off then their skin stays on the rim and you have their DNA! Let's get some funding for this and make it happen!

What do you do when it goes off??? is what I'm worried about! that's the one i was looking at also. I cant go to prison for a couple of low lifes!!! You call the cops at the time it goes off 15-20minute response time if your lucky! Either way its a efedup situation. I might have to pay for parking in my neighborhood..Cant pay for garage parking every where you go tho, it only takes 5 min for a crew to take your wheels. I seen a cop car on bricks before. Its a dam shame we work they steel and their good at it!:shakes head:

FairladyZ 03-20-2013 04:54 PM

Sorry to hear.

I really like how you are handling this, you don't seem to upset.

Anyways why did the tow company take the car away in that matter? Couldn't something else have been done? Put on spares then move the car or something?

Whatever the case the people will get what they deserve. Damn scums

Yea man being a New Yorker all my life you can expect certain things Like never pass a cab on his right or when he sees a fair you can expect him to shoot over in your lane with out a dought but what i seen this morning was not shocking but not expected this particular morning. I refuse to give up tho man. Every day in New York is a learning experience and today i learned i should have parked where i normally park..LOL! You got to keep these bums guessing in the city. I knew that but for some reason i was in my like u said used sentra state of mind not realizing that parking that type of vehicle on a one way street with no security cameras, no police patrols, no house or apartment windows is begging to get my car stolen i fully admit that was a nissan sentra move. But the thing about me is you only get me once i learn and come back stronger must New Yorkers do you have to if you live here.

I got low insurance rates but i know geico is going to f- me when its time re-up. Not just me but all New Yorkers now because its becoming a trend like the honda accords and civis of the 90s once insurance companys find out about a trend that vehicle gets more expensive to insure.:shakes head:
