Help !!! Help !!!

not sure where i should post this, but since is "general discussions" i figured it would be ok here.
i have 2 questions.

1- i just purchased a Shift Knob. . . the question is how THE hell you take that shift knob out so i can switch to the one i just purchased? either that thing does not screw at all, or its super tight, or im just weak lol. either way how can i change that thing ? lol

2- i am in the process of getting some wheels for my hooptie, but i dont know NOTHING about wheels beside brand names and that lips look good lol. the wheels i want has an option of +20 +25 and +40 offset. now my question is... THE heck is offset ? what does that mean ?

if anyone could help, explain to me as detailed as possible i would appreciate that.

Thank you all in advance.

Should be in the interior/exterior section. See below for answer

http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...-searched.html

and for your rims/tires selection, we have a section called Wheels/Tires for that

Yeah like everybody else said search is your best friend. But to give you a quick answer,

1. Yes. That thing is a bitch. You need pipe wrench to un-screw it. But wrap a towel around the shift knob so it won't get damaged.

2. Put it this way, the lower number of the offset the more stick out the wheels will be thus looks sicker. Hellaflush folks usually get wheels that have negative offset. But then again, you always can get wheel spacers afterwards to achieve the lower offset you want.

Yeah. Thank you so much. I did research it. But was still confused, that's why I asked. Seems like in this forum everyone that knows something feels like their god and wanna make fun of the ones that wanna learn, instead of help them. I'm cool with it. . . I've learned to always ask questions when in doubt.
But once again thanks a lot bro. After the YouTube videos and google answers I thought the higher the numbers the more Polk out you get. I'm trying to have a flush look. Maybe ill lower the car tucking a bit of the wheels. So I'm guessing a +15 would look good then huh.

As far as the knob, I guess I'm weak then lol. I was doing that. Ill try again this Sunday and hopefully ill be successful.

I honestly appreciate your help bro. Makes thing a lot clear now.
Thank you.

No problem bro.:tiphat: But just one thing to correct, it is the lower the number on the offset the more poke out of the wheel you will get. Coz the offset is the distance from the center of the wheel to the mounting point. The lower number of wheel offset pushes the wheel outward.

+15 is a mild aggresive offest to start with. To make it flush it also depends on the width of the wheels. But like I said, you always can get wheel spacers afterwards if you want them stick out more. It will take some experiment play with offest, cambers and ride height to make it look sick. Good luck bro!:tiphat:

Oh right. I forgot. That's what's spacers are for.
Thank you. Thank you so so much kid.
Ill do that. Start with 20s maybe even 25s and if I need it ill get spacers.
Good thought. . . Thank you kid.

I think you will find that most of the members here are very helpful. Many will bend over backwards to get you the answer to a question that has not been answered already or clarification of answers/info you have found.

One of the main purposes of this and other "fan sites" is the sharing of information - check out the large DIY section - and all are encouraged to ask questions. Just do a little homework first.

Apparently, you didn't research it very well as there are multiple threads on the subject. Maybe you just didn't know the proper terms to search for but don't expect a lot of slack from this crowd. If your feelings get hurt, don't let on as it causes a feeding frenzy.
