We have a Dr. that has a Cayman S. and parks in the Dr. lot. Of course I can't park in their lot, but Id love to have security give me a blue parking sticker for a week haha. If I had to choose I would choose the cayman s, only because since I saw one on the road I was hooked.

The new cayman is scorching HOT if I have the money why not. But since I'm still considered averagely fortunate I'm happy with the Z. Even a Non-modded Z will make the cayman run for its money.

This is like choosing between Kate Upton and Sarah Silverman. The Z wins that beauty contest every time.

I agree, Sarah Silverman is smoking hot!!

Honestly, I'm not sure which is nicer looking. They both are beautiful to me. And, still better, they are both fast and fun to back up those looks.

I would say pre-2013, the Z was nicer. Now they're about eual, with maybe a slight edge on the Cayman.

Did i answer this b4? Anyway...

2013 Cayman S is better looking and gets my vote, however taking into account the price difference, the '13Z is definitely more attractive

I own both and I will just say, both are great cars. I won't get into it as the OP's friend already bought a car.

I just saw where I posted this, it was a month or so before I jumped and bought one.

New Cayman for the win vs Z. Agree'd on Z vs old Cayman. Here in Germany in the Auto-Motor und Sport mag, they tested the 911 vs the new Cayman. Cayman won. Porsche driving school instructors consider the Cayman S the best Porsche made for handling and balance. Its a nice package overall compared to the ICON 911.
I would never turn the Cayman down...

I met a brand new Boxster S driver on the Dragon at Zdayz. He said he was all set to buy a new 911, but his salesman insisted that he take the 911 home for a night and then take the Boxster home for a night. He chose the Boxster, because he said the performance was almost no difference and the roof came down on the Boxster. Now, the Cayman S, I'd imagine, is even faster.

I have my Z because of a Cayman. I drove a Cayman R at the "Exotics Driving Experience" in Las Vegas. Never owned a sports car, but I was hooked. When I got home I started pricing 2-3 year old Cayman S and Boxter S models. Pricey! Then I started considering maintenance and upkeep. Then I started looking at alternatives. The Z jumped to the front in terms of cost, performance and maintenance cost potential (same as any other Nissan). I won't mod mine and don't race it, but it is nice to blow by the occasional idiot on the road. For my use the performance difference is negligible - and I do slightly prefer the Z looks over the Cayman/Boxter. Now if someone gave me a Porsche . . . any Porsche . . .
