For those who can't understand it I'm guessing for Nissan: Z touring = best and the Versa = worst.
**** my internet at work sucks.... :shakes head: |
List seems pretty spot on imo
|
yah whoever designed that versa sedan needs to be removed from the planet.
|
Surprised to see the QX56 on there as worst from Infinity. I have rented them for business many times and have really liked the feel and features.
|
Nice to see the 370z best in something for a change but I still don't put a whole lot of stock in these kinds of articles. Seems more like fluff than a critical and objective rating of models. Next week they'll be telling us how much the Z sucks again.
|
Luv my G37 and 370Z and can relate to the article's message.

When you list the STI as the most reliable Subaru, 135i as the most reliable BMW, Evo as the most reliable Mitsubishi...your methodology comes into question. |
Positive or negative CR is full o shyt. As far as the 135 though. Reliability has increased a lot with the single twin scroll vs the TT. But to be top reliability??? I'd have to do that research myself.
|
So the sub-entry level inexpensive model is the worst? imagine that. I still like the versa for what it is.
|
Everyone loves CR when they say good things and throw a fit when they say bad things.
Human nature is funny. |

This list is the best and worst car, based on their road tests, NOT reliability.
Also, the 370z is now recommended, and the Mustang isn't. Made me :D Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2 |

Using CR for car advice is like using the Best Buy sales dude for your upcoming brain surgery. :D

Consumer Reports, Consumer's Digest, etc. have their place. They're great for people looking to get the best value for their budget dollar. If I was looking for a mid-range commuter sedan (like an Altima, Fusion, Accord, etc) I'd at least take some of their findings into consideration.
But for people who are looking for cars like ours, the usual CR criteria don't really carry the same weight. I know I wasn't really considering cargo space or all-season capability when buying my Z. It's all about perspective. We're also car enthusiasts. Of course we're going to disagree with any "expert review." DON'T TELL ME MY Z IS UNRELIABLE. IT ONLY LEFT ME STRANDED TWICE IN 6 MONTHS. THAT'S NOT THAT MUCH... :icon14: |
Interesting....but a completely pointless comparison. It's just another useless article brought to you by people that should stick to reviewing microwaves.
The Versa Sedan is currently the cheapest new car you can buy in the US market. I was looking at getting the sedan as a DD and I can honestly say the ameneties reflect the price. Nothing is standard equipment on the cheapest model. A tach is optional for god's sake. There's no reason to really buy this car new. To be fair though, Nissan designed this for people who want a brand new car and just need something that get's you from A to B with the least impact on your wallet. I ended up leasing a Civic. The upcoming Versa Note actually looks pretty good. Reminds me of the Honda Fit, which would have been my first choice if buying instead of leasing. |

Most car magazines change their opinions on what they hear, its common but if some of them actually did some real research and had credible sources they wouldnt have all these assumptions/generalizations to go on. But then again I just read the magazines  |

I gave up a long time ago. If I want reliability, I'd be in a Honda Accord but will be miserable. A good alternative is a hard to find un-modified S2000 or a plain Miata.

Someone frame that list..

We own the best Nissan and the worst Acura. Other than going from 332 HP to 151 HP, the ILX is a solid car. But honestly, I cannot complain about a brand new Acura for >$25K and $250 monthly car payments (it helps that I don't have to drive it often :icon17:)

Ha. Just kidding. I had the clutch cylinder fail on me when I was four hours from home (not my fault). I also had the SLU fail on me outside of a frickin' KFC. (I say this is 50/50 my fault. 50% Nissan's fault for a crap unit, 50% mine for knowing about it and uh, doing nothing.) So, all regular '09 problems. Nothing out of the ordinary though. Other than that it's been reliable. |
