Another one bites the dust

Sooo this morning on my way home from work I stop to put gas, and as I go to start it....Nothing. The key light is blinking in the cluster and right away I knew it was the steering wheel lock, but it was too late. So I call triple A and can you believe that they didn't want to tow my car because its about a 35 min drive to my dealership and it was rush hour! In the end I had to leave my car there at the gas station and hide the key in the suspension....I couldn't believe it! I'm calling triple A once my car is towed to complain, what's the point of having them if they're not even gonna tow my car when needed? I still have warranty so hopefully I'm covered and can at least get a courtesy vehicle. I know there's tons of threads on this I just needed to vent!

Umm why would you hide the key in the suspension?

Sorry to hear but seriously why do people with 09 models refuse to fix (ei: pull fuse) this issue? You're obviously on the forums and you've probably seen the countless threads where people are having this problem. At this point I'd have to say it's your own fault... =\

I had my battery go out and I thought it was the steering lock at first. It scared me enough to pull the fuse. Now I have a new battery and complete peace of mind. ;)

If you are under warranty, then Nissan will pick up the towing charge.

I know I know I should have pulled the fuse, I'm not blaming anyone for that at all because you guys are right It should have been done a long time ago, I guess I'm really just mad at how triple A handled it, and yes the key was on the suspension so that whoever picked up the car could find it

I can't speak for the OP, but I keep waiting for some dude to pull up in a Z, jump out with a red cape on and a giant FPM logo on his chest (Fuse Pullin' Muhfucker) and take care of it for me. Nobody has come yet though.

Seriously though, as great as the DIY is (and it is) and the time invested in sharing it, there really isn't much more you can do.

Unless, of course, you buy a cape
