Automatic windows with key fob?

So I was standing outside my car, and all the sudden the windows roll down, is there a comand on the key fob that rolls the windows down automatically, because I can't find any info on it in the manual.

Both windows, I'm guessing I hit some button when the key fob was in my pocket, but I can't recreate that from happening.

Any info?

Hold the unlock button for more than 5 seconds(?). If you let go of the button during the roll down of the windows they will stop at whatever point they are at.

GMZ 07-16-2009 03:35 PM

Hold down the unlock button for a few seconds and itll do that.

xiven 07-16-2009 03:36 PM

cool feature!

Lloydy 07-16-2009 03:37 PM

That's happened to me too - I actually came back out to the car from my apt and found both windows down!
It hasn't happened again so I put it down to the keyring pressing on the keyfob while it was in my pocket - needless to say I don't have any other keys on the fob now.

Sashimi 07-16-2009 03:58 PM

Cool didn't know this, anyway to roll them up?

kdo2milger 07-16-2009 04:00 PM

can you do the same to roll them up by depressing the lock button for 5 seconds?

SO that's how I've done that...

I have a bad tendancy to bump the buttons on the FOB while they're in my pocket....

A couple times I went in the garage to discover that my windows were down! =/

The answer is in your manual....odd place for Nissan to put info about your car. Who would ever think to look there for car features?????

But NO. I would guess for safety reasons.

ya I checked the manual I couldn't find anything about the keyfob except in the Nissan quick start guide, which didn't say anything about the windows opening and closing. hmmm maybe I didn't look hard enough

page 3-14 in my manual

FricFrac 07-16-2009 10:55 PM

Lol - this is a good repost as there always seems to be someone who doesn't know about the feature....

Reading every page of a manual can get pretty dry esp if you have the car already ..... funny how ppl are ready, willing and able to jump down someone's throat for not searching, etc on the first offense....

ya, I usually search, but I don't really make a big deal about reposts unless the topic read something along the lines of "Is the 370z rear wheel drive?" or something of that sort.

Plus I should of wrote "This thread was posted on my iphone" :p It's not the easiest to search on an iphone.

Shunya 07-17-2009 05:46 AM

lol this works on my friends Altima as well

kannibul 07-17-2009 10:42 AM

Keyfob will put windows down

CBRich 07-18-2009 11:50 AM

No I don't work for them but kptechnologies.com has a Nissan window roll up module. Just hook up a few wires inside your door and the arm button will roll up the windows.

ZiGMoN 07-18-2009 12:14 PM

I like to roll down my windows with the keyfob next to my friend's GT-R. Hates it when I do that. Odd they don't have that capability. or at least his doesn't. =(

Safe as in not getting something caught in the door like you're dog or kids neck, etc...

Dude if its raining walk the extra 20 steps to the car and roll up your windows.... then you'll be "safe" ;P

I have just discovered that we here in Australia don't (unless I'm doing something wrong) get this auto windows down from the FOB feature. :shakes head:

kbc749 06-18-2017 01:09 AM

Key in the door in the lock position and held in the lock position will put the windows up.

Life experience is the gift that keeps on giving

If vehicle is parked w/doors locked & alarm set; as you're walking up to it,just hold down on the unlock button (around 5sec or so) and windows will begin to go down...if you let off button; they will stop-or continue holding until they are all the way down...it works on mine any distance away that would lock or unlock doors.

Hey Guys,

I've got a 2009 model from the South African market.

Does this feature work for 2009 models too and is it universal or only for European or US markets?

It doesn't seem to be working on mine. Any ideas please?

As far as I know, it should work on all 370Z's

good luck.

PetersPotter 06-08-2021 10:08 PM

Has anyone had issues where this doesn't work? I have a 2019 370z Nismo and the windows do not respond when using the key fob.
