No big deal

I have had a weak battery as of late. I've had my battery load tested recently and it passed. A week later I needed a jump. 5 days later I needed another. I drive an early 2009 model so it is 4 years old.

Tomorrow I will get a new battery. No big deal. Am I missing another problem in any ones estimation? Thank you.

parasitic drain somewhere? install anything electrical recently?

check youtube how you can measure parasitic drain the ghetto way just in case this happens again with your new battery.

my 9yr old battery in my G starts up fine. :p

How many miles on the car? The base battery is a 36 month if I remember correctly. If you have a lot of miles, then I wouldn't be surprised if it's shot.

it's not a maintenance free battery, but if you keep the water level correct and keep ample charge, it should last longer than 36months.

maybe if exposed in extreme heat the water turns to vapor and leak out (?), but still, just keep adding distilled water it should last longer. that is my guess.

This is likely the solution. I had low water in the battery and am quite sure I could have helped myself by checking the water level earlier. $100 later, I have a new Interstate.

Check the alternator?

$100 is not a bad deal at all. :D hope your new battery keeps its charge.

Good idea. It passed inspection.
