He had it brought home and has put in a ton of time and money into the build. He wasn't going to enter the competition thinking he wouldn't be considered. After some persuasion he changed is mind and its pretty cool just to say i know the guy who won. He's enjoying the strip right now!!!!

I think you are taking what is being said here in the wrong context. If the competition was for any Modified Z then I would agree with the decision but when they first advertised this event it was to compare their crowd sourced 370z to another modified 370z. Like anything I guess they reserve the right to change their minds but they should have discontinued their promotion of this event and then relaunch it for all modified Z's. Besides I cant count on my hands of how many articles there are already comparing the old and new. Either way congrats to gordon and I hope he does well but as far as this forum goes it is pretty safe to say that motortrend and Nissan turned their backs on those that promote their product more than anyone else around and if they decide to show their faces at zdays and still claim to be the peoples champ then there will be more than a few that can call them out and will give them a smackdown that they would not soon forget. IF YOU SMELL WHAT THE370Z.COM FORUM IS COOKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

:iagree: with kelly they would get smoked by so many other cars, especially if they show up at an event like ZdayZ

I am surprised that there was not much showing from the Z32 community :ugh2: I now there are a lot of guys over there who's cars would tear up a lot of the finalists not to mention some of our Z34s.

Hope I'm not double posting but the Challenge video is here. I found the challenge entertaining and I very much liked that 240Z.

Yea, you are. If you look down a bit, you'll see the thread with the video:

I was surprised as well that it wasnt 370 vs 370 but I found the video pretty entertaining because who doesnt love a twin turbo Z or one with a GTR engine.

I do think it would be really cool to see the project 370 vs 4 or 5 super modded 370Z's then you could show the difference what mods make to performance.

Another cool video could be 1 or 2 Z's of every year compete. Say a stock Z of every year and a crazy modded one that would be one to watch....

would love to see the Project Z vs one of the Pirelli World Challenge GTS 370's or BJ's Grand-AM 370 since they are pushing close to that power N/A using the same brakes. to me, the biggest difference in the two cars was the 240 simply couldn't match the 370 for the brakes. that and it was manual/non-abs vs power/ABS/EBD etc

also, i feel the track prep'd N/A vs F/I build is more interesting to me.

:iagree:

I think it could have been more interesting if Nissan had challenged a 370z with a stock look, super-clean and well done modifications.
Maybe this is what most people were expecting, don't you think ?
