Those chopper lights......
 

Was a little under twice the speed limit on the Golden State fwy in LA at around 2 AM. White lights glowed all around me and freaked me out. I thought a spaceship was about to take me up to the heavens. It was a gigantic spotlight from above. I slowed down to the speed limit and realized it was a chopper. Was under those lights for about 30 seconds, it actually felt longer. Did not feel the need to stop for some reason but was ready to face the consequences the moment the ones on wheels arrived. The lights went off and the chopper took off. It just scared the hell out of me and I took that as a warning. I just said to myself, lucky me.

This happened a few weeks ago and I reflect on it once in a while when I am tempted to go WOT.

You should start wearing an aluminum foil hat just to be on the safe side.

Those lights are amazingly bright. When I lived in Phoenix the ex-wife and I took the jeep (without the top on) out looking for an ATM at 1 am. We passed one on the left so I turned into a blockbuster's parking lot and turned back onto a side street to go back to it. The next thing we know it was just like you said, I thought we were getting abducted, the whole area just lit up like it was daytime and absolutely felt/looked like you see on tv when the beam from the ship comes down lol. Out of no where 5 cruisers fly up with lights going and even more spotlights shining on us. I nearly shat my pants. Come to find out the blockbuster happened to be robbed a few minutes before we turned into the lot and we happened to be leaving the scene when they rolled up on us lol. After a quick look in the jeep and normal license/registration we were on our way but that was really scary at the time.

People have no clue what it feels like getting all lit up at 2 am and you're all alone on the fwy at a very high speed. Scary.
