Goodbye Z...

I am trading in my leased 2012 Red Sport Package Z and buying a 2011 Red VW GTI with sunroof and navigation. I must get rid of my Z due to a move and I will have 1 hour and 15 min drive to work each way 5 days a week so due to the miles she must go. The commute is also very uncomfortable in the Z for that amount of time as the cabin is quite noisy and the ride can be bumpy. I chose the GTI as a sporty all around good commuter car with a very nice interior. I am quite upset as I love my Z.

so...is it quiet, or noisy?

kobnj 01-29-2013 08:21 AM

spelling error... "quite"

enkei2k 01-29-2013 08:32 AM

Gotcha

It's probably bumpy because you have the sport/lower profile tires and I don't know, I don't find it noisy at all. Different strokes for different folks.

GTI is a good choice though.

Sorry to hear that buddy, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do

Once in awhile I find my back a bit stiff after a long drive but all the other goodness outweighs a sore back lol.

GL with the VW...

I remember early reviews of the 370z mentioned 'heavy' road noise from the tires. If it gets too uncomfortable on a long commute, that's fair enough man.

Those GTI's are pretty fast little cars. Too bad your letting go of such a beautiful car (Z), though.

keep your Z and get the current gen honda fit MT and swift springs. comfy and quick, carry wheels and tires for your z, and you get to keep your Z. :p

HELLO, Z! :hello:

Coon-azz 01-29-2013 09:20 AM

Man...sorry to hear that. Your new ride is a good car. Owned many a vdubs in my time.

Just FYI, my Z is my DD and commute 1.5 hours each way, 5 days a week. I've had no issues with comfort. Are there seat issues? BTW, the GTI is a lot of fun!

HELLO, Z! :hello:

Don't listen to Kenchan! He has owned something like 17 Honda Fits. He's clearly addicted and should admit that he's powerless over the appeal of boxy FWD micro cars!

(OK, seriously, I like that idea. The Fit or another of the small, gas friendly cars as a daily driver would work well if you can afford it).

:iagree: Except for shame part. :rofl2: Do what you must regarding car. Ouch on the commute. Working closer to home regardless of car, is not a bad goal.
