Recall has been issued. Dealer said letters being sent out was issued about a week ago. I already had mine replaced couple years ago. They said complete new redesign and needed to replace mine under new recall even thou I had updated unit. I do not know how they will handle those paid to repair

Nissan has been re-imbursing those that paid to have a qualifying ESCL replaced. Anyone that paid to have their ESCL replaced should contact their dealer or NissanUS.

From what I can tell from the autopsy pics that have been posted, it's not a "new redesign," but merely another minor revision.

My car failed last couple of months. And I got same letter. Called my dealer and they said I still need to bring my car in even I got same part. So they replaced my last week with exact same part number.

Btw. Just want to add this.

When bring the car in for recall of the steering lock. Make sure bring with u the spare key if u guys have one. So they can reprogram it to the new part. If accidentally forget it. Keep the invoice so later u guys don't need to explain to them the whole story. Actually when I bring my car in last week for recall I forgot to bring my spare key. So I need to go back to dealer and have them reprogram it. Well who knows we might need the spare key anytime or in the future.
