Traction Control Question

I am use to FF and 4WD car and the 370z is my first FR.

The car is still new and I haven't gone pass 4K RMP. I corner a little bit faster than normal driving (~30km/h left turn) and "slowly" accelerate on 3rd gear at apex (like I would for FF and 4WD) and the traction kicks in.

Are my tires too new and still need to break in? Or sliding is the characteristic of this car?

For sure it wasn't fast cornering and it was dry road.

Normal? or I just suck?

I too noticed quite a bit of rear slippage early on. You didn't list your mileage, but it took my car about 1200mi to really have the rear tires settle down. The Z does have great torque and power though, so you'll find that quick corners and jumping on the throttle will make the rear slip easily. If you have TCS on, you just lose power. If you have it off, you get a nice slide and a faster heartrate.

I got 150km on the car now. So I guess that's why.

Thanks for info.

Dumb correction but actually its FR....front engine rear wheel

It was probably just a typo

there is a current post talking about tire pressures. Check yours. If they are too high, your traction will suffer.

Checked the tires, the pressure is normal. Still sliding and traction kicks in when I give gas at apex.

Am I the only one?

Nope. Mine is quite squirrly and hunts for traction quite a bit. This problem is much worse if there is any imperfection on the road. I have never really heated up my tires, but I bet that would help. Wait until you drive it in winter temps. On a dry road at 10 degrees, this thing really wants to go wherever it wants with driving with a bit of spirit. Just pay attention, feel the cars movements, and you should be fine. Enjoy the car!

Thanks for the input.

Probably because your tires are fresh. My car is rock stable under all conditions..
