*Top Secret recommends use of hood pins.
There's a reason.

I thought all carbon hoods and trunks are recommended with hood pins.

im still a carbon fiber fanboy but my tastes have gone to liking it more for accents now instead of full bodypanels so in a wayt that might have been a fad. i think if your car is stock looking wheels and all then you have a carbon hood or fenders it looks weird. ive spent a good bit of money for some small rare pre preg dry carbon pieces for my car but i think in some cases it can be overdone or more commonly misused

I hate seeing different weaves matched up against one another on cars (especially the interior) like 1X1 next to 2X2 and i think even mixing and matching gloss and matte sort of ruin the look

and lastly im not judging anyone if you do it but i cant understand the new trend of wrapping everything with the 3M carbon print Vinyl. i see it everywhere now and even on high end cars. i just dont get it. It "looks" ok as i used some of it to wrap my gran turismo steering wheel for my racing cockpit but i wouldnt let that stuff go within 10 feet of my car. I get people like the look but if you do it you cant say a damn thing about neons or intercoolers not attached to anything or any of that.

yah, while do use dinoc on my interior i dont use it in large areas... it's just a pattern accent i added vs the plain matte black trims my Z came in. i prefer matte on the interior pieces as i hate reflection.

even real CF pieces, i dont like it in large areas. just simple accents here and there is enough for me. (mines's rear wing tip and ings+ front lip and fangs).

i havent followed it as much over here but you guys wouldnt believe the hoods roofs and wings ive seen wrapped in it over in the GTR community. i think its just me being a hater as its always followed by 10 comments of looks nice or awesome job. :icon14:

but back to the CF fad thing..i guess in some ways at least aftermarket wise replacement parts sort of are a fad as if the definition is something thats not as popular now as it used to be. I remember a few years back everyone had a carbon hood or something of that nature.

most manufacturers have gone to using it as accents all the way up to what was mentioned before as the high end cars use it in the chassis. for example i think the M3 with the carbon roof is cool and things of that nature. I tend to like it more when it comes from the factory like that instead of aftermarket add ons. factory carbon is eye candy but piling on aftermarket maybe can be a bit much these days

i remember trying dinoc on my z's roof. it was DEFINTELY not for me. i took it off a few hours after i was done applying it. not only did it look fake, it looked like canvas... yuk.

ill let the real roadsters have the canvas look.

I've never been big on carbon fiber. Especially in the interior. To me it cheapens the car. Minor accenting is fine. But when you go full carbon console, steering wheel, side panels and center storage and other int components, all CF. It becomes OD.
