Just curious.... what do you do with your stock part after an upgrade?? Big items like exhaust ans suspension. Chances for someone to buy it are slim. Do you just trash them?

madwi 11-29-2012 07:18 PM

When I had my 350z I donated them to other wisconsin z club members. Id rather them go to a fellow enthusiast than the scrap bin.

anthonyy 11-29-2012 07:22 PM

store them until/if you sell

Wiggins3377 11-29-2012 08:14 PM

If your suggesting that you have your stock suspension I may be interested.

TheGreatOne 11-29-2012 08:35 PM

Hold onto them incase u need to put them back or can sell them

never thought id sell my stock exhaust but a fellow member needed it to pass inspection so sold it for peanuts....i might as well chuck my stock intakes, taking up space lol

I would totally do that if we has a z club here...i hate storing stock parts and our stock exhaust is so big!

I keep 'em. Re install if I decide to sell the pcs or decide to upgrade. You just have to find a place to put them which is a pain. I like the idea of helping a brother or a sister in need. So if you're local and need some pcs. temporarily, let me know. I have stock exhaust, springs, lug bolts, CAI, and a couple of light bulbs :)

My stock parts are chilling in the addict.

red6spd 11-29-2012 09:00 PM

I keep all my OEM parts.

Mine are in a box, only exhaust is posing a PITA, May hang it on my garage ceiling or something. My luck, it will fall. I'll just hang it on my Wife's side.

Exactly what I would have done.

Like others I usually keep them just in case I want to put it back to stock.

Keep them. Not that you are going to sell your OEM parts. But if you ever want to sell/trade in your z, stock Z ALWAYS has better re-sell value and MUCH easier to sell(more people will be interested in) then a modified Z. While you always can part out your aftermarket parts for good money when you decide to sell your z. Trust me on this! Plus if anything goes wrong, like fail the inspection or pulled over by cops or parts worn out, you will always have a backup plan. Like you said yourself, how much you can get from the OEM parts. So why not just keep it. You won't regret it.

What forza said. People who buy the car are more comfortable with OEM parts. There is a stigma about aftermarket parts installed and it is not positive. This is a very good point.

Absolutely. I had an Eclipse prior the my Z. I held onto the stock exhaust for almost a decade, and was glad I did. The car sold quickly, and the buyer was a couple looking for a car for their 16-year old daughter. I doubt they would have had any interest in the car with a loud A/M CBE and cold air intake on it.
