Good CR Report on 370 Z

December 2012 issue of Consumer Reports presents 2012 370 Z as a much improved vehicle and now certifies it as CR Recommended. Nice to hear good things from these folks for a change. Frankly though, after all the adverse postings about the 2009 (like mine) regarding poorly performing hatch springs (like mine), whiny ECU's, crappy paint and expensive steering lock failures, they probably were right in having reservations about the early model(s). I've had no problems with my '09, but I'm pulling my steering lock fuse pre-emptively anyway---didn't expect to have to do such a bush league thing on a car of this level. It certainly should be covered by Nissan on our out-of-warranty models through a recall.

It is because of CR's previously poor reviews for our Z that I came to question their ratings, because I know we have never had "poor" reliability. Nice of them to see their error.

:iagree: but most of the fixes are so simple I'll just take it in stride and drive on.

I've noticed the best cars on earth sure seem to be flat bedded away from the track a lot. Seemingly at least, this is not happening to the 370's.

CR was the only print to have stated poor reliability. While other reviewers sited quite a few annoyances in engine noise, etc... No other magazine is calling this car unreliable. C&D had brake issues that again no other magazine repeated. I just believe corporate politics plays a huge part in these types of reviews.

As crazy as it sounds, I'm starting to agree with this sentiment. Doesn't help that CR has already done its damage to this cars rep (especially the early years).

I don't care if CR has possitive or negative reviews. At the end of the day, their opinion is crap! Nissan probably wised up and did what every other company does and bribe the writer.
