high pitched noise

Am i just really hung over or am i hearing like a real high pitched noise coming from inside my car. Almost like a TV that is left on without anything running as an input.

ECU whine, its a common thing with the Z. Some people don't really notice it, some people just don't really care about it. You can go to the dealership and get it fixed if it bugs you that much

LMBmikeZ 11-18-2012 07:30 PM

:iagree: if it is bothering you get it replaced. Not all of the ECU's do it, and luckily mine doesn't!

No you are not the only one. This has been discussed in a several threads already. Search is your best friend. Otherwise you will hear a even higher pitched noise/yelling from other members or moderators ask you to do a search before open a new thread soon!

I'm usually listening to music or my exhaust note so I don't really notice it. But it doesn't seem to happen all the time though.

Could be that you finally got used to it and tuned it out like I did lol

Had mine replaced under the power train warranty. No whine anymore.

Are you sure it's not your girlfriend?

Im glad this thread popped up. I have the same issue and didn't know what it was until now.

invader19 11-19-2012 03:18 PM

I just spoke to the dealer. They said that there is no "Bulletin" for the 370z in Canada to have this problem fixed. I'm screwed.

cheshirecat 11-19-2012 03:21 PM

Take it to another dealer. There is no TSB, he's correct, but a TSB is not required to process a warranty claim.

The dealer will have to call Nissan's Tech Help line. They know about the issue.

Are you still under the power train warranty? If yes, go find the part number for the updated ecu and explain the issue. Tell them to call nissan if they need more info. If they are being difficult go to a different dealer.

If you are out of warranty you're likely SOL.
