I know most people would scoff at the idea, but I removed the headrests for a better view out of the quarter window.

I don't think that is any big deal.If it gives you a better view.Might look into that myself.

you guys ever heard of whip lash?......

Check your wheel locks and make sure you have 370/g37 locks, not 350z locks. Unless you would like for them to shatter while doing that powerslide.

^^ This is kinda important. My car came with the wrong locks.

When you get your windows tinted then minimize the number of times you open the doors the first 24hrs. Since the window rolls down about half an inch when you open the door then that's enough to snag the bottom edge of the film if it hasn't dried on the glass yet. This happened to me:rolleyes:

The little button one the door frame can be taped down so that it doesn't roll down for a few days.

Heard of it, not too worried about it. Statistically, I'm probably much more likely to back into something because I can't see out the quarter window than needing my headrest for whiplash.

just take the screw out of the door stopper/plunger that actuates the window down mechanism and that will keep it from doing the same.

You can also pull the fuse for the power windows before you get the tint put on so.

Baddriver 09-23-2009 04:40 AM

If you happen to park in a grassy field at a large event, it rains all day, and when it comes time to leave and you have a nice, rutted, muddy hill to traverse:

Make sure you have a few friends to help you get the car back on to pavement. It took three to push me up the hill.

Putting the car in 2nd gear and trying to get it out of the mud is much more effective than 1st gear.

These two tips will most likely get a "duh" from most members here but may come in handy for brand new Z owners...

1- The noise from the dash after you turn off the car then open the door is the steering wheel locking (took me a couple of days to figure out what the loud noise was).

2- Each click of the temperature control knob = 1 degree (took me another couple days to realize that one).

Then again, maybe I'm the only one who didn't figure out ^^ immediately :rofl2:

Don't forget about the dealer's habit of over inflating the tires..
