Sometime's the grass isn't greener (Camaro V6 Comparison)

I'm late to the party sorry. But i took my first test drive in a camaro today a 2012 RS with the v6. I knew i wasn't going to buy i was just bored. Heck i thought the salesmen was gonna wet his pants when he seen what i was driving

The look on his face was like why in the world would you trade that car in on this camaro. Anyway not impressed when i got back in my 09 you can tell right away the fit and finish is heads above the camaro and it was a 2012....

not news to most of you guys but i had to see for myself...

V6 Camaro is garbage, if you must compare to the Z it must at least be the V8 SS, even that is still garbage. I wouldn't even touch the Camaro, Mustang is far superior to the Chevy being its own American rival.

All levels of the Camaro have a crappy interior, but considering you can pick up a v6 for ~$22k without hassle, it's hardly fair to compare to the Z.

I definitely agree that it's "to each his own" and that's what I like about the car community!

I'm personally not a fan of the Camaro or the Mustang interiors. The Z isn't perfect but it least it looks more modern.

I'll chime in coming from juggling this question not so long ago myself...The Z interior to be honest felt dated compared to the Hyundai Genesis Interior or BRZ, then there was the Camaro and Mustang which, Buzz's Girlfriend WOOF!

The 2012 Genesis has less power than the 2013 but IMO looks better, I don't like the redesign on Either the 13 Z or Genesis...

So I drive the 12 Z:happydance:

That Camaro tipping the scaled at close to 3800 pound doesn't help, either.

Power is always great, but be sure to take note of the weight- being Z owners, we tend to forget that not all cars are 3200 pounds.

:iagree: that plus the interior was a major reason for me not getting one. :driving:

Including the Z. The Sport package takes it over 3,300 lbs. Not exactly a lightweight (but still lighter than the muscle cars).

growing up my family always owned a chevy or ford product. ive been the black sheep buying only japanese cars. what it comes down to is the actual plastic used in say my parents ford explorer. the plastic is brittle, fades or discolors quickly, has rough edges and makes god awful noises if it touches another piece of plastic.

all you have to do is one audio project on a domestic to understand the lack of quality put into the material used.

on a side note, my nissan cant hang with the interiors of an acura. which to me is one of the best car makers at selling a resonably priced yet well put together interior. yes there are other better ones but the price jumps up fast.

At least the 5.0 offers real sport seats... the Z's are pretty bad for cornering. While I prefer the Z's interior layout, the stang's isn't bad at all. Just different. Materials are quality and that's what matters most. Whether or not you like the design is a difference of opinion.

The camaro is a pretty badass car, it's just too big. No reason to hate on it just because it's American. There's a lot of amazing american cars and many more in the pipeline to come. No reason to be bias

Last time I checked the curb weight for a base+sport package z the curb weight was 3264 not much below 3300 but still not over either
