What do you think the Top Gear crew will think of the new 370Z?

Top gear is one of the most entertaining tv shows about cars I have ever seen and I understand that their reviews are not always serious but what do you guys think their ultimate feelings will be about the 370z?

I am also very excited to see the z power slide around their track. Also, the Stig will put the car to the test and I want to see what the power lap time will be.

Even if you do not like the show, you can be assured that their artistic style of cinematography will show some awesome shots of the 370z. So lets discuss your thoughts on the Top Gear crew getting their hands on the 370z.

tranceformer 12-08-2008 09:17 PM

I frankly don't care what Jeremy Clarkson thinks of the 370z. Although I'm pretty sure he'll make the episode entertaining.

Maybe they'll do another Z car lineup like they did when the 350z came out.

Slidefox 12-08-2008 09:17 PM

I love Top Gear.... My Cousins from the UK got me hooked, and thank goodness my cable provider has BBC America.

xDIEGOx 12-08-2008 09:25 PM

More than likely Clarkson won't like it. He's never liked any generation Z. But it'll still be a good show though. Top Gear is my favorite show.

AK370Z 12-08-2008 09:29 PM

Well Jeremy Clarkson HATED the 350z :shakes head:

<object width="408" height="337"><param name="movie" value="http://www.webridestv.com/xml/wbuserembedplayer.swf?movieid=15265"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.webridestv.com/xml/wbuserembedplayer.swf?movieid=15265" type="/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="408" height="337"></embed></object>

but he loved the Nissan GTR. I think he has a lot more respect for Nissan post GTR release. I am curious to see what he thinks about the new 370z

BTW Love the show! One of my fav show on TV.

Slidefox 12-08-2008 09:36 PM

Did they test the G37... i don't remember...

Endgame 12-08-2008 09:47 PM

Clarkson will not like it.... He actually thought the GT-R was boring, so maybe he will say the Z is engaging!! I am just looking forward to the comedy.

Its so depressing that the BBC America Top Gear is edited for content and two years old/behind the current ones.
I watch them for the hell of it but I always watching the current ones on Surfthechannel.com or 5thgear.

The last 4-5 episodes were Hillarious, especially the one where they took the Challenger, z06, and CTV out to the Bonneville Salt flats.

Clarkson will hate the 370Z, hands down.

I'm confused with Jeremy's statements sometimes. The first test that he did, he really liked the gt-r, it almost broke his neck too, but the second test that he did, he said it was a boring car.....But back to the OP's question, i don't think jeremy will like the 370Z....but I know Vicki from fifth gear would love it:tup:

I think he is bipolar! oh btw, Vicki is awesome! I love her reviews.

ctzn 12-08-2008 11:30 PM

I bet he will like it, as it seems an improvement on all the things he did not like about the Z33. Of course he always finds some ridiculous reasons not to like cars, and never in a consistent manner, leading me to believe it is all for the show.

He is wildly entertaining though and I look forward to a review none the less.

Here you go guys, every episode of Top Gear ----> http://www.the370z.com/lounge-off-to....html#post5816

o0javi0o 12-09-2008 12:47 AM

He will criticize the interiors materials as he did on the 350z and always does with American cars, even tho this is not an American car, but you get the point.
He will then compare it to a German car.
He will compare it to the old 350z and give some remarks of the history of Z again, he will tell that his heel and toe is better than the new syncro auto rev. transmission but in the end, the 370z will kick his believes but he will still try to give a bad impression of it, but not as he did on the 350z and again, compare it to a German car.
Pure Opinion. btw, Great great show.

zsport1 12-09-2008 12:58 AM

I love the Top Gear show. But Jeremy is a Z hater, atleast all of them except the 1st-Gen-Z. So he'll probably bash the 370 too. :shakes head:

Devil Z 12-09-2008 01:32 AM

Funny his criticism on the 350Z had not contributed to the fact that it became the car of the millenium, in sales and is used in a whole field of sporty scenes for instance drifting. I don't see how it being designed in California had to do with anything the car stood for, lmao it's that type of criticism you would get from an Englishmen or where ever he is from due to the car being made in the U.S. Also the sound of the car?? Muscle car?? Doesn't want to drive it fast because of the road the guy crashed on?? Drive the car on a track moron!!! come on get real. If he dislikes the 370 Z, this man needs to stay off the roads period!!!.

they made fun of the G37....this show is just for kicks and has no useful info at all....LOL......it's a waste of time watching it IMHO !!!

gettingaZ 12-10-2008 09:59 AM

I think he (Jeremy Clarkson) will laothe the exterior, synchro-rev match feature..and fine some other stupid reasons to hate it. But in the end it doesnt matter....truthfully.

I respectfully disagree. I don't like the G35 or 37 either. The show has lots of useful information, granted Jeremy does exaggerate a few things to make it more entertaining. That is the reason why people watch this show.

Personally, I think this is going to be one of those times where jeremy first talks crap about the 350z and then talks crap about the 370z's exterior and maybe a little about the interior.

However, he will then say "So you'd expect this car to also drive like a total failure (Jeremy classic camera look straight at the camera), but it doesn't. in fact its brilliant. It's like... (insert ridiculous exaggeration/analogy here)."

In the end he's going to be very impressed by the rev match system and the performance/price ratio. I think he's going to end the review on a very positive note.

That is so true. Like all those times he says all the negative things about a car then says something like "Until you hit this button." Cue the epic music and the 370z sliding around the track.

batman_4 12-11-2008 06:06 PM

Complain:
1) lights
2) head room
3) material qiality (it feel "plastic-ish")

Overall i too agree 2 w/posts above that this time it might end up in a positive note with the performance/price ratio.

diskreet 12-13-2008 01:06 AM

Clarkson is going to hate the looks, hate the interior, then fall in love with the performance and value of it. He's going to compare it to the original Z, and tell us that Nissan finally returned the Z to it's roots.

shumby 12-13-2008 01:07 AM

^^^^ I bet you are 100% correct.

shumby 12-13-2008 01:07 AM

he bashed the G37 pretty good.

I would do the same. The G37 is a jack of all trades, master of none kind of car. It's not a pure sports car, and it's not a true luxury coupe.
I would take one, and love it, but I'd never spend my own money on one.

shumby 12-13-2008 05:11 PM

^^^ wow why the hate for the G? Mine rocks and it kicks *** as a luxuray coupe. simple NA mods and your putting 310 HP to the rear wheels. it is faster then the 350Z and looks like sex.

I'm not trying to pick on the car, so take no offense. It's just the the G does not work for me - I don't care much for luxury. I'll take communicative steering over the world's most comfortable ride any day.
The reason the new Z is so attractive to me is that it appears to be a much better drivers car - stiffer chassis, more steering feel, etc. The less that gets between me and the direct controls of the car, the better. Logically, you would assume that I am not interested in the GT-R. And you'd be right - I find it boring.

I'm not looking for a flame war, just voicing my opinions that work for me.

shumby 12-14-2008 02:05 AM

did not take it that way just standing up for my G. lol

SnakeBitten 12-14-2008 02:27 AM

I think it boils down to the French connection with Nissan imho. He hates the French even more then Americans. With Nissans ties to Renault he naturally hates all things Nissan. You can hear his vitriol towards that fact in one of his reviews of the 350z.

I predict ole pumpkinhead Clarkson will hate it and Vicki will have an orgasm with it. She absolutely loved the HR Z. I love her too. AK350z shes mine. I saw her first:icon17:

SnakeBitten, that's a good point. But Jeremy does give respect where it's due. Well, let's hope that at very least he lets it go round the track in the Stig's hands.

ok, you just explained the whole point of a Z and a G. :tiphat:

the Z is meant for ppl who want just power/performance
and the G is for ppl who want luxury and luxury cars all have power with them.

J o r d a n 12-14-2008 11:25 PM

I don't think Jeremey Clarkson will like it, but it doesn't really matter.

Awesomely amazing show, though.
