My GSX finally dies...........

Time to get a Z. I am 26 and this will be my first time buying a new car. I am hoping to get a base Z with the sport package included for a good price.

Any tips? What price should I be looking to get it near, and how should I deal with the dealership and or sales person?

Thanks in advance guiys. I hope to be part of the community shortly.

Mercennarius 06-30-2009 11:42 PM

Test drove a 370Z with the sport package recently....you won't be disappointed, the Zs a lot of fun.

My only worry is getting a good deal. I am also curious if I will miss the AWD.

you wont! i had a sti and an evo before the 370z, fr cars provide more feedback esp in the steering. my comparison is like conducting a train on rails versus a sportbike in the twisties. it may not be the quickest but def is quite a pleasure to drive.

Good luck on getting your Z. What killed the DSM?

I just cant get parts for it anymore. It is becoming harder and harder to keep up. On top of all of that it is just old, especially the interior.

pics pics! :D

Ah... Good 'ol crank walker took it's last step? That's a shame. Well, the Z is going to be good fun! You may miss AWD, but you're going to love power sliding! :D

Sashimi 07-01-2009 03:12 AM

I got mine for 34,500 out the door (with 9.75% tax here in Alameda county, CA)

It has a 6 bolt swap. It was a fun car too, and i never got it over 300 at the crank and I still loved it.

Gotcha... I learned to drive stick on an eclipse. Fun cars.

Your target is invoice. All the MSRP and Dealer cost numbers can be found here: Nissan 370Z Pricing / Ordering Discussions - Nissan 370Z Forum

I had an AWD Audi and don't miss it. RWD cars are a lot of fun.

Yes and no. The AWD is awesome for acceleraction but....

Turn your traction control off in the Z and hit corners in 2nd, what happens next you can't get in an AWD on dry pavement.

I was talking about that with a friend last week. I used to love Eclipses, & even up to like two years ago, I still thought they were neat cars. I'm not sure what happened, but all of a sudden, they look TREMENDOUSLY dated.

Anywho, where in NOLA do you live? I grew up in Thibodaux, went to school in Baton Rouge, & am now stuck in Shreveport for work.

Im actually in NOLA. New orleans East to be exact. Born and raised.:happydance:
Have you ever been down here? I would hope so, at least to visit the Quarter.

cow 07-01-2009 03:15 PM

Thibodaux's 45 minutes away, lol. New Orleans is basically home.

I've got family in Chalmette.

:iagree:

I got mine at invoice (+ T&L) a little over a month ago - you can use Edmunds.com to get current invoice prices.

What part of Shreveport are you in? I've only seen 5 or 6 Zs around town so I might have seen your car once or twice.

I live on Clyde Fant.

I've got the black 350Z on RPF1s that's not super low & has the Mines' lip on the front.

Mike 07-02-2009 09:10 AM

check out Robert Nash's thread in the buying section and get a VPP number from him.

Oh Okay, you live like 3 miles from me then. I'm at the foot of the Jimmie Davis in Bossier.

Are you on 318racing.org? It's a local site-- I'm not a big fan of a lot of the stuff that happens there (street racing), but I like most of the people who regularly post.

Yeah, but its been really dead lately so I haven't been on much. A few of my friends are on there too. Luckily my car is extremely slow so I never had to worry about being tempted to streetrace or anything like that.

Same. If you see me, honk. I take 71 home (I work in Coushatta) some days, but won't be with the bridge closing.

Will do. My car is a Titanium (pretty much the same color as PG) Eclipse that's slightly lowered with some aftermarket headlights and tailights if you see me.

I didn't know they came in that color. Pics?

Jordan777er 07-02-2009 12:48 PM

^ I uploaded a pic album on my profile. The 4G came in the same color (H32) for a while and think they replaced it with Satin Meisai.

davidyan 07-05-2009 09:48 PM

I got mine for $600 below invoice at $31,000 plus tax/license. I have the sport package and floor/trunk mat. Most people average around $32K from other threads.

The best deal I've seen on this board for this package is $30,000 plus tax/license. Based on that, you should try for $30K as well.
