Called out!

I'm temporarily assigned right now for some military training. There's a guy in my class with a red 2007 nizmo 350z. I guess he saw me leave my car this morning in the parkin lot. Anyways during our break he walks up to me wanting to race. He was asking what I had in it so I told him and politely told him that I would beat him in an all out drag race. He replys by telling me I have no idea about his nismo an that he has brembo brakes, better suspension and a nizmo tune exhaust! I thought to myself for a sec somewhat confused thinking to myself, "what the hell does brembo brake and suspension have anything to do with a 1/4 race?" I then told him his nizmo does 13.7 stock and a straight base model 370 does 13.2. He just kept on blabbering about his brakes n stuff. I just told him I don't street race and he walked away thinking I was scared lol! What a freaking retard!:icon14:

I don't like to street race cuz of obvious reasons.

shadspimp 06-29-2009 10:03 PM

Dude you were obviously scared and shivering don't lie :nutswinger:

FuszNissan 06-29-2009 10:05 PM

Get used to it. I can't drive down the street without every corvette reving their engines at me. I'm not 16 anymore. Tell him to meet you at a track and have fun.

tvfreakazoid 06-29-2009 10:13 PM

I want my mommy;)

zZSportZz 06-29-2009 10:31 PM

Get used to it. I have some jerkoff at work hounding me to race his G8 like its all bad ***....its not even a GT or GXP either. Its like...whats the point?

Cjanik 06-29-2009 10:37 PM

its a lose lose situation

you'd win but then the guy would say he lost cuz his clutch is slipping or his brakes are fading and thus its an unfair race, haha.

"Tracks are for *******" was what I got when I was involved in a similar argument.

k20z3 06-29-2009 10:48 PM

tell him to suck a fatty. and get over it, give him kudos that he can read the sticker on the window.

I thought I was the only one. I had a local guy tell me about how much faster he is than anyone, then I asked what his times were at any of our local tracks. He said the famous words you quoted above.

How the hell can you know if you're fast if you have no logical benchmark :icon14:

Don't race him on any public road...ever. Resist the temptation. Encourage track use. Always.

Don't even bother encouraging track use....what is even the point of going to a track to settle a senseless challenge that doesn't amount to jack-squat in the greater scheme of life? Encourage instead the resistence of an obvious infantile urge...

Tim 06-30-2009 01:20 AM

Junior there is NO way you can take a nismo, theres no way, it just wont happen:icon14:

matt2112 06-30-2009 01:42 AM

u bitched out!!! hahah jk :stirthepot:

in all seriousness, u handled the situation like a pro... street racing is for punks!! also, thanks for fighting the good fight (although i'm canadian, i have the utmost respect for the US military) + rep!!

edeeZee 06-30-2009 02:10 AM

I would've started a freestyle rap like:

-yo' nismo is slow, mine actually goes
--through the 1/4 like your daughter when she takes off dem clothes
-i gave the ho a dolla, oh what did she holla?
--i looked in the rear view and yo' slow 350 tryda follow
-i ain't dissin' on Z's, cuz we all a family
--but can't you see? don't f&ck with a three-seventy-Z

Tires screeching sound...with 370 exhaust tune (in the background)

Corvettes rev at you? How old is the driver?! Usually the Vette drivers don't like to race anything unless they're in their mid to low 20's. :D

But most Vette owners are in their late 40s or older.

zZSportZz 06-30-2009 08:05 AM

LOL @ vette drivers.

I live in a military town....every single vette owner is retired military 50+ year old men.

My active goal (that I've been joking around with friends for two years) is to see a vette owned by someone under 50 or female. These guys tool around doing 40 mph in a 55.

KillerBee370 06-30-2009 09:27 AM

It's all good. You and I both know what would happen. Let the kids talk outta the side of their mouth. He's just jealous because he somehow thought "Nismo" meant he was getting into a Bugatti Veyron version of a Z. Not quite the case.

arcticreaver 06-30-2009 11:57 AM

let him know if he man enough, meet at the drag, otherwise, keep walkin'

nogoodname 06-30-2009 12:02 PM

Challenge him to a duel at a local dragrace track.

:bs:

I love my 370Z, but my stroked '72 Vette will kick its @ss - and I definitely don't do 40 in a 55 zone. :D

Come to Atlanta. I see alot of people driving vettes that are under 50... especially women.

nogoodname 06-30-2009 12:34 PM

^^^ The corvettes turned into a beverly hills mama mobile....lol

Crash 06-30-2009 03:08 PM

^^^ Actually C6 Corvettes were marketed more to women while the C6 Z06 and ZR-1 were marketed to men. The C6 seats were even made differently to handle the wider hips most women have. Interestingly enough, there's a LOT of women that prefer to drive C5 and C6 corvettes.

My friend (who also has a Vette) always says "Vette make's 'em wet."

280z/300zx 06-30-2009 03:15 PM

Actually, you do know that the 07-08 350z, nismo or otherwise, is a low 13 sec car just like the 370z is? The 07-08 350z by mags runs a 13.5 but if you look at the owners of the HR 350z they have managed to run as low as 13.1. Most average 13.3-13.4. The 370z has hit a best of 13.2 by mags and so far as best as I've seen a 13.1 in an automatic 370z by an owner. Sure the 370z has the advantage but when comparing the numbers the two cars are actually pretty close in a straght line race. With something like this it would come down to the drivers and not so much the cars themselves.

The Nismo 350z really isn't any faster in a straight line than the regular 350z, just better in the corners. So in all possibility this guy could give your 370z a run for it's money depending on both your drivers skill. Us 370z owners need to remember not to be too cocky just because our car is newer. Remember, not all 350z's were created equal. There were 3 different motors used during the 350z's life span.

Crash 06-30-2009 03:16 PM

Tell him your 370z has push button start! That'll shut him up.

It's not about newer. It's about modification baby!

I'm sorry but I think it's unrealistic to think certain people will just become mature overnight, especially young testosterone filled ones. If you can change the attitude of just one pseudo-street racer to take it off the streets and on to the track, you've done a good thing. Maybe even saved a life.

Lug 07-02-2009 10:23 AM

Challenge him to a race to see who gets out of the parking lot first. With your remote start, he will be left fumbling with his keys as you cruise to ULTIMATE VICTORY! ;pumpsfistinairsmilie:
