does anyone else think black on black is played out?

im debating what color to paint my emblems..

Mike Z 10-02-2012 09:16 PM

its not really "played out" but i personally dont like it

dmhenderson 10-02-2012 09:20 PM

Evo-R is selling some pretty cool Z34 emblems. Any combination of black/chrome and black/silver carbon fiber backing.

frost 10-02-2012 09:21 PM

no

steveg78 10-02-2012 09:26 PM

Murdered out. Matte...all that I think is played out.

TreeSemdyZee 10-02-2012 09:30 PM

Doing " your own thing" is never played out.

henryy370z 10-02-2012 09:31 PM

plastdip white or gold emblems? what color rims

bdavis89 10-02-2012 09:52 PM

Yes.

Painted my emblems with clear plasti-dip to give it a very subtle matte look. Its all in the details for me.

Not that I rag on anyone who murders out their car, it does look good.

I doubt there will be a better response than this.

Yeah this is going to turn into "insult other people's cars" thread here shortly. Nature of the question in the OP is argumentative to begin with (probably not intended that way)

No

I don't think so

Black on black has been around forever and never fails. The good thing about the Dip is you can change it any time.

370Z Purist 10-03-2012 12:18 AM

Black on black has to be done well. If it is, then it is menacing and beautiful. Screw up one point though, and you break the flow, and it looks stupid.

Mr&Mrs 10-03-2012 12:52 AM

How can you mess up all black? Just asking

DJ-of-E 10-03-2012 02:23 AM

Do whatever you want, don't ask a forum for tips and styling queues. Everything gets judged, even stock. It's just some more than others.

I would do it any way you like. Until someone starts making your car payment for you, I wouldn't listen to what anyone has to say about it.

2011 Nismo#91 10-03-2012 07:34 AM

I wouldn't say played out, it has to be done right, many people just keep making more and more of their car black. That only works if your Batman, you need another color to break it up or it looks plain or boring.

shadoquad 10-03-2012 07:46 AM

Black on black has been done so much. OP, to be totally original, should paint his Z sparkly pink with safety orange accents. No one can call that "played out"

This is spot on. If people here listened to everyone who had something negative to say about a particular mod/style, everyone would drive vanilla stock cars.

KSFastah 10-03-2012 08:29 AM

Individualizing your car is always gonna be an "eye of the beholder" kind of deal....what looks wicked killah to one person might be complete rubbish to someone else.

I'd say the person making the payments gets to trick out his or her ride to his or her own tastes.

Couldn't say it better. One more thing OP, once you go black ... (Well you know how it goes)

PapoZalsa 10-03-2012 05:37 PM

Black on black has been played out long time ago!
