The Genesis Coupé is really only good in the 3.8 spec. The 2.0T just doesn't feel right despite how good it looks on paper. The rest of that list I can agree with though.

some 370z fanboys on this forum really ruins it for other people. the Z is a great car, but its not the only great car out there. get over it. I appreciate cars for what they are and there are a lot of great cars out there.

Anyways, i've decided to keep the Z and i'll be getting the 240Z still. i just wont have the same plans I did for the 370z.

Cheap to buy and maintain...used Toyota Corolla. It's never cheap to buy a new car. I think you need to conduct an analysis of how much $ you lose by only keeping the Z a short time and the diminished value of driving a new car off the dealer lot. If you want a project car (for fun) and a good all around car, get something with 4 doors, 5 seats and some storage capacity. Just my $.02

golf gti will be a MUCH funner car to live with on a daily basis IMO

If you want a cheap DD to save some money, you're better off buying something slightly/moderately used than a brand new car. You said the new CRZ was like $21k? That's not much less than you will get for trading/selling your Z. IMO if you really want to save some money you should be looking in the $10-15k range. That's just my :twocents:

I have a 240Z and a 370Z -- they are like bookends (old and new). Both fun in their own ways.

Still better than a CRZ and has room for improvement through modification. Especially with the revised turbo engine. Modding would be cheap since it's FI and still be very streetable. Price would be right too. I'm looking at the bigger pic. And the 2.0 isn't as bad as some reviewers make it. If you go above it's price range, there are better cars. But in it's price range... Hard to beat for overall power/performance/features/dd ability. It's still a well rounded car regardless.

I'm not trying to be mean or a douche in any way but after reading this thread it seems like you've already made the decision before posting here. Every bit of advice people have given you you always back up the CRZ and why it is better. So what is the point in even asking for advice if you shut everybodys opinion out the window?

thread should close already, but ill reply to this anyways. i never said the crz was a better option then the other cars mentioned. what i did say is that i prefer the looks of a crz over any of the hyundais or fiats. people are suggesting that i get a 5 seater, then i stated that i didnt need 5 seats. but yea, im keeping the Z....for now anyways.

I don't think anything "fun" can get out of the CRZ. It is a cute little car for commute but not really much you can do about it, performance wise.

I know a couple of people that would disagree with that strongly.

Still can't figure out why a s2000 wouldn't work for you.

If the OP already has a 240z, he can have motoring-fun with the 240z, so it's all good.

i get better mileage in my Z then my buddy did when he had his s2000. i dont feel like its much of a change. id rather keep the Z.
