Oil Maintenance warning

Each time I turn on my z the orange screen displays an oil filter and when I click next it shows a picture of something that says oil. I got a oil change about two months ago and 1000 miles ago. The dealer told me they used synthetic oil. I was wondering what the cause of this problem is and what I should do.

I will suggest you OPEN your Owners Manuel. There is really allot of info in that book.

There's nothing to worry about but you need to reset the oil interval setting
You could also look in the owners manual if you need additional help

Maintenance - Oil/Filter - Reset Menu. Press the lower single square "Reset" button, then press the upper double square "Set" button.

Tada! :)

Happy Holidays! :D

Go to the ugly-a@@ gauge on the left to change/reset the interval. This is nothing magical, it's user-set.
Don't worry, I freaked out the first time that I saw it about six months ago. No one had ever set it before this new dealer that I went to. I was downshifting and the light went off. Once I figured it out, I felt like the complete dope that I was/am.

No... I pray my engine blows due to a lack of oil... And it will be the dealership's fault :stirthepot:
Then I call my guy at corporate after this :argue: happens at the dealershit
Then I get a new engine and all these emotions happen:
:happydance::rofl2::woot::woot::woot::rofl2::tup:: rock::happydance:

I was down six quarts from 0 - 2900 miles. Had I not checked I'd of received a new crated engine. Instead I discovered I was down my first quart at 485 miles. For my diligence I got to reuse my heads on top of a new short block.

At 13,600 miles I still use oil so I will begin another oil consumption test soon.
