Strange things with my 370Z

I park outside, facing towards the house. The car was locked and secured for the night.

Incident 3, today:
This morning when I walked out to my car, I saw that both windows were not up.
At first, I thought someone broke both windows, but I didn't see glass shatter anywhere.
When I checked, I saw that both windows had been rolled all the way down.
What caused this to happen? Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere.
Should I take it to the dealership? Would they know what to do so that this doesn't happen again?
The car was outside, and I have no idea when the windows rolled down and for how long, but I found a dead spider and cobwebs inside.

Incident 2:
A few weeks ago, when I got into the car, I also saw that the center storage door was open and so was the passenger side glove box compartment.
The car had been sitting for over a week and no one entered the car, yet these two compartments were opened? Would some strong vibration cause these two doors to open by themselves?

Incident 1?:
My 370Z shipped just days after the horrible Japan tsunami hit in March 2011.
I had the car in the garage. While the car was off, I sat in the driver seat and inspected the interior. I noticed out of the corner of my eye, in the side view mirror, I saw a shadow figure walk behind the 370Z. This happened twice and freaked me out a little.

Now, no one has access to my 370Z and I keep a FOB with me and hid the other one so no one can have access to the 370Z.

Anyone have strange things like this happen to their 370Z?

Incident 3, you pressed/held the unlock button down inadvertently

jlbrenne 09-18-2012 12:39 PM

Depoint^^^^^^^^^^^^^Good point!

Are you messing with us??? I think you def. have a ghost!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had the windows come down before..However, in my circumstance I was putting the top back up and the windows automatically come down to do so. I think I just forgot to power them up.

I don't know. The key was sitting on my shelf after I locked the car. No one touched the key fob.

I keep the key fob in my bedroom on my shelf so I would see if anyone grabbed it.
I suppose you have a 370Z roadster, but I have the coupe version.

My thought as well

onzedge 09-18-2012 12:55 PM

OP -- do you experiment with hallucinogens bu any chance?

Seriously, though -- the windows down thing can happen if your fob is in your pocket and just normal movement/sitting can put enough pressure on the unlock button to casue the windows to roll down.

Where in MN are you? We have property up in Otter Tail County.

Set up a security camera and record your Z when it's sitting outside or in the garage overnight.

Have you're Z blessed by your Paster/Priest with Holy water and if that don't work?

Call Zak from The Ghost Adventures he'll get to the bottom of it.

I agree on the pressing of the button by accident :ugh2:

Yeah I was convinced I had gremlins/ghosts the first time this happened.

That probably led to #2 and someone checked to see if there was anything in the car.

dmhenderson 09-18-2012 01:06 PM

For incidents 1 and 2, I would consult Peter Venkman and/or say prayers to Zuul.

Your Z is haunted.

Turn VDC off and drive around to scare the spirits away.

Winner.

This is too funny, I almost can't wait to hear what happens next. (My apologies to the OP if he legitimately thinks his Z is haunted.)

I'll bet my life to anyone's, I don't use any illegal drugs or mind altering junk.

I take my keys out of my pocket when I leave my car because I have to use the keys on the key ring to open my front door. I didn't see the windows go down and the keys were never in my pocket afterwards.

I'm no where near Otter Tail.

I'm just going to check it every night before I go to sleep to make sure it's alright. :icon17:

I just tried pressing the lock button to see if it lowered the windows and nothing happened?

I held the button down for a minute. How long does it take to lower the windows?

Trips 09-18-2012 07:47 PM

5-10 secs holding the "unlock" button will lower the windows Normally

forza370z 09-18-2012 07:55 PM

Except incident #3, the other 2 belongs to paranormal activity.:wtf2:

You might want to ask venders on the site to make you some custom voodoo stickers to put on your car see if it works.:stirthepot:

Luckily I don't keep anything important or valuable in the car, but nothing seemed touched when I saw the car this morning.

The time those compartment doors opened up, the windows were closed, so it'd doubtful anyone opened the car at that time.

What would you think if you know that no one has access to your car, and then when you go and get in, you see that those two doors are opened. You'd think that someone was messing around with you. But not in this case.

Mikes350z 09-18-2012 08:03 PM

do you live alone? Live with your family? do you have a spare key? do you have children who would take the car?

Friends who would mess with you since they know you are a "ghost" believer?

I would set up a camera and see what happens, perhaps nothing, or maybe you will see who or what is behind this.

Jack370Z 09-18-2012 08:14 PM

Wonder if a Nissan employee or a friend that knows one lives nearby? Where is your second key fob...? That could explain a lot if someone is messing with you but just in case none of those are true I called and my grandson was having problems with monsters in his dreams. His mom got him a can of "Monster Spray"...worked for him! Just a thought. :tiphat:
