370z Paint & Windshield

So This is my third Z 350z, 09 370, and 12 370 and I have gotten my windshield replaced on all of them. I do not know if the glass is just thin or what. I also hate that the paint just chips real easy. I have a 2012 Jeep as my DD and Rocks, debri, dirt, and other stuff has hit it and I have no chips on it. On my 2012 I have one big chip on my hood and four on the side.

I will be talking to Nissan dealer to see what they can do.

Nissan paint is soft... as far as the windshield i have a few little chips but nothing major. Try not to tailgate when you know the road is bad

If you do a lot of highway or fast 2 lane driving then you will definitely get more damage because of the speeds involved.

Considering the paint on the nose of the 350Z I used to have would chip if someone breathed heavily on it, I finally decided to try paint protection film on the 370Z when I brought it home. While expensive, I couldn't be happier with the stuff. Works very well, and nice not to have to worry about the nose quite as much on the Interstates!

Yeah I was thinking of getting a clear bra way back when I got the car, highway driving makes a lot of chips on the hood/bumper, im just gonna get it re painted sometime next summer.:driving:

Rhetorical question...Are you tailgating other cars and driving behind trucks? Your Jeep may be able to get away with it.

3rd Z and still no clear bra?

Windshield was never a problem for me. I can agree with the rock chips, now with my second Z I think I'm going with some clearbra. I try to stay very far away from trucks when possible. Nissan's paint is just garbage.

Three Z's and three windshield's. What rotten luck.

The paint is in a class by itself.

Nissan has the worst paint quality in the business, get used to it. Dealer wont do anything for you. Nissan/Infiniti has like 10 different shades of grey/silver that are decent but everything is else is paper thin.

I was not tailgating I was at least a car and half away. I just have bad luck with Windshields and Nissan Paint is just garbage. I had a clear bra on my 09 Z which did help but this time around I never got around to it. Now I am regretting not getting one.

I think I am just going to get the bumper repainted and then I will be getting clear bra.
