I don't get why you guys are bashing? Whenever bimmer owners try to belittle you and say "it's just a nissan" you get mad and say their ignorant and what not yet you are doing the same thing right now.. Nissan tries so hard to be like bmw/porsche.. just like Hyundai is trying hard to be like Nissan/Infiniti. If they don't set a benchmark to compete with, how will they ever get a better rep?

I think it comes down to looks, stock speed, rarity, and future value...
Same situation (on a higher scale) with a Viper...Buy a Viper Coupe for around $90,000 or buy a Z06 for around $65,000 and spend about $8,000 to make it quicker...No matter what the Viper will be worth more and less rare in 10 years. When it comes down to it, I think the 370z will easily turn more heads then any Hyundai ever will. Not to mention they (just a guess) will be less 370z's on the road then the Genesis. |

The company has come a long way and is making more and more reliable cars. I would definitely buy the Genesis coupe if I wasn't in the market for higher-end sports cars such as the Z or G37. The Genesis coupe will definitely be a lot of bang for the buck if you can get over the Hyundai tag. Any company that can get Brembo and ZF to specially design parts for their cars is definitely up-and-coming. The Genesis coupe is an impressive car and those that fail to accept this don't know their ****. There was a time where I would say I would never drive a Nissan (because of Datsun) and now, I'm in the market for one. There are rumors of Hyundai preparing to release a luxury brand some time in the next couple of years. I will definitely be looking into it when and if that brand comes out though I think the timing couldn't be any more awful. |
Saw the Coupe in Inchon airport it will turn heads too. Hyundai still has a few more years before they get my vote though, but it is coming.

Genesis Coupe is actually not bad looking and has decent numbers. I'd get it. But I'd strip off all the Hyundai badging and leave it bare. They are making better cars but its going to take a while for that first impression to wear off.

One automaker, Hyundai Motor America, is trying to woo skittish buyers by promising to let them return cars free for up to a year if they lose their jobs and can't make the payments.
The "Hyundai Assurance Program" applies to customers stricken by misfortune outside of their control, such as losing their job, becoming disabled or losing their drivers license for medical reasons. It covers depreciation up to $7,500. Article can be found here. |
