Vacation

Well we've had the new 370 for 11 weeks now. We also have ran up 2600 miles (1500 of that has been this past week on Vacation) since April 5th. This morning at Mt Rushmore we return to the car to find a nice deep door ding behind the drivers door. Now mind you that the Z was parked on the end of a row and also on the outside white line. There was enough room to open the biggest door on the biggest SUV and not be afraid of getting hit. But some jerk found a way to ruin our vacation. I just can not believe people and their inability to drive or PARK a car. *%*%*%*%&*^&%*

Damn shame man. I drive my passengers crazy, because I always park in places where people cant park next to me, regardless of the walk.

wow that blows... i can't believe the number of stories like this popping up. i guess there are a lot of haters and retards bumbling about this world of ours.

It it isn't that bad we can pop it out with PDR work. I will discount it for you. Might not be worth the drive, but I thought I would offer the service.

People have no respect for anything. When I got my new '79 280zx back in college, I was actually sitting in the car when two knuckledraggers parked next to me went to get into their car and smacked my drivers side door. I get out and look at the dent and then look at him and he just acts like "what the hell". We exchanged a few words and then he got a Big Gulp in his lap right thru his passenger side window. Made me feel a bit better. I guard the 370Z like a psycho. Drive the wife nuts.

Oh man that is a byatch, sorry to hear the bad news..

Lou,

Thanks for the good thoughts but we have some great guys at "Miles Nissan" here in Decatur. I'll have them take a look at it when we get home and if they can't do it the body shop guys can. I just hate it because the wife and I both go out of our way to prevent this type of stuff from happening. We park so far out in parking lots you need a road map to find the store we stopped at.

I have a relative who owns a big old POS car who ENJOYS dinging other peoples cars cause hes a jealous waste of space that will never amount to anything. Some people are like that. Its a shame.

StLRedrider 06-24-2009 11:42 PM

If you find them, let me know we'll park my truck on top of their ride, ha ha.

I hadn't even had my car for a week and I already had a scratch on it. Second week I had a second scratch on the opposite side and last night another one. People really don't care and its really starting to piss me off. I try not to be the idiot that takes up three spots but now I'm starting to feel that way.... a$$holes....

i wouldn't do that. then it makes a lot of people REALLY cranky...the non-idiots included. it's like a free invite to get your car keyed.

KageZ 06-25-2009 11:10 AM

No dings on the 370 yet....but in 03' my 350 was parked in between a BMW and a Lexus in a garage...when I got back, there was a HUGE dent in the door....Not from another car (no paint transfer/scratch) My body guy said it looked like someone walked up and threw their *** into it and walked away.

People suck...plain and simple.

Sry your vacation was spoiled like that...i know mine would have been also.

nogoodname 06-25-2009 11:20 AM

Well. The rear of the G got a hit and run. Car was so new, there was no bumper replacement. Then got scartched like a billion times by the dealership.
Also the front lower grille was kicked in.

During my vacation last year (about this same time); I went to <st1><st1:city w:st="on">Washington</st1:city> <st1:state w:st="on">D.C.</st1:state></st1> for most of the week and was headed home on July 3rd…I had a ’08 San Marino Blue Roadster at the time.

<o></o>As part of my trip home, I took <st1:street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Skyline Drive</st1:address></st1:street> and stopped for lunch at one of the few areas where you can stop for lunch (the park service operates a “snack bar, gasoline station, etc.). Even though the parking lot was far from crowded, I parked WELL away from the actual buildings…anybody parking close would have to be going out of their way to do so.

<o></o>Anyway…I went in for lunch and was probably there less than a half-hour. When I came back out there was some mid-‘80’s Ford Aerostar Van parked besides me to my passenger side (I was parked front-first into the space)…I don’t know why but I immediately was suspicious; I suppose it was because the parking lat was still very uncrowned and there was simply no “good” reason for anyone to park that close to me.

<o></o>Since I was suspicious, I checked my passenger side and as you can probably guess, there was a BIG door ding in my door…to say I was livid simply doesn’t describe how mad I was.
<o></o>
I’m generally fairly easy-going and had someone parked beside me because there weren’t other spaces…dinged my door accidentally…I could understand that but for someone to go well out of their way to do that - I frankly can’t understand that level of stupidity/hatred/jealously or whatever it was operating in them that made them do that.
<o></o>
There was no way for me to know for sure who the van belonged to so I didn’t even have anyone to take my rage out on which was probably a good thing. The only thing I could think to do was to let the air out of two of his tires...I felt better after I did that. :)
<o></o>
Lucky for me, my favorite body shop was able to pull out the dent without breaking the paint so the repair cost me less then $200 (I don’t remember the exact amount).

That's one experience I hope I don't have on this vacation (which starts for me in precisely 4 hours and 55 minutes). :)
