Pulling the brake light fuse or disconnecting the brake lights (or in the OP's case fog light) disables the circuit.

Agreed ... but wold be a problem on the highway I suspect.

Yeah, would only do as a test, not a permanent solution :)

I actually had to turn the lights off in areas to get up to speed when this happened. I was mentally running through alternative excuses in my head when I was doing it because I didn't think a cop was going to fall for the ole "my rear fog light is causing my engine to not have any power" story.

OEM retrofitted with a 7443 socket and dual element 7443 bulb.
