Thanks everyone. I actually found my key. I tracked it down to the apartment complex off the jogging path. Lucky for me someone found it and turned it into the front office. . .

Talk about lucky! GEEZUS

Yeah, I dont have a spare key. I bought the car used with 10k miles on it.

I'm going to get a spare key this week.

You will still have to do half the stuff you listed with the spare key

Seriously? You use the freakin' key that's in the fob. :)

Actually you can. You just insert it into the port on the dash just under the steering wheel and hit the start button.

Thanks I'm still using same fob 3 1/2 years

There's a keyhole on the driver's side door. As someone else mentioned, you use the key in the back of the fob.

I run with my keys in my hand when I jog otherwise I get bottom heavy and start leaning with my gigantic stash of keys in my pocket. lol. If anything I'd recommend taking the key out of the fob and just running with that, and leaving your fob at home just in case you lose it again.

Does anybody know or can confirm that by putting the key in the lower left key slot in the car recharges the key fob batt?

At least you found your key. Bet that was a major relief.

Negative. There is no charging circuit in the fob, the battery in the fob is single use only. Sticking the fob in the fobgina port does allow it to operate should the battery go dead. There is a small induction coil which provides temporary power to the fob without point to point contact.
