What is the most amount of miles you have got on a single tank of gas?
Not really something to brag about... On my way to Dallas there was a part where I got down to 3 dots (not even where the low gas light thing comes on) and i decided to check my GPS for gas stations.
Well it had one gas stations about 50 miles ahead of me or 25 miles in back of me... DOH. Anyway i thought with 3 dots it would be no problem but it burned through those last 3 dots extremely fast =( I lucked out and there was a gas station 10 miles closer than what my GPS said. I ended up putting 18.5 gallons of gas in the car which I think is the most I have ever done. Glad I did not have to drive those additional 10 miles on a half a gallon of gas =P Anyway I did 495 miles on a single tank. Was curious what some other people have done. I was driving 80-84 the whole way so I am sure there are some people who have done better than what I did. |
Thanks for being the guinea pig and testing out for the rest of us to know it is better to load up before it gets that far and stress out. I'd rather have gas all the time than have to call triple A or walk to a gas station and get raped for a gas can priced 5 times the price of a gallon.

290-300miles city driving. It sucks!

That will probably change as I am changing jobs and going from 41 miles (one way) 98% freeway to 18.5 miles one way (90% freeway). |

On daily driving I get around 270-320miles to a tank. The best I done on a road trip, grannying the peddle is 448miles on 17.5 gallons of gas.
|
I'm seeing just around 300 miles/tank. I just purchased a 2012 370Z and I'm a little miffed at the poor fuel efficiency. Only 17.4mpg after the first 1K miles and I'm babying it during the break-in period. The sticker says 18-26mpg. What's up with that? Love the Z but I might have reconsidered a V8 sports car for 17.4mpg.
|
I usually get 250-300 driving around town, not driving hard. Our tanks are 19 gallons supposedly, and I see around 28 mpg on the highway on cruise control.
|
My longest on a tank was 323 and I ended up filling it with 16.29 gallons. So, I guess I could have probably gotten close to 360 or 370 miles if I was willing to push it. I rarely let it get too far past half a tank though.
I've really only done one really short interstate trip with mine though so I'm sure I could do better. |
100 miles puts me close to half and I refill. 200 miles is when I'm low. But on a trip I've gone 300 miles and then refilled not out of need but I like to keep my fuel pump submerged in cool gas for longevity.

You need to break it in about 5k miles to start seeing better mpg's once you're at 10k... you will level out to max fuel econ. BUT... Dont expect to have ANNNNY fun getting 19-26 or slightly better. You, generally can't worry too much about general fuel economy when buying a sports car over 250hp though... shytty fuel goes with the territory brutha. Try having fun in a v8? you get 14-15mpg,s. |
|
have had the same as whee maybe a few clicks higher doing a long boring drive from montreal to toronto. cruise on 119 kmph will get u that distance

yeah those dots are extremely innaccurate because of the odd shaped tank. btw the best gas mileage I've ever gotten on the z was on a long interstate drive doing an average of 90-95 mph so the theory that driving slower gives better mileage is bunk.
|
When you put the performance of the car into perspective? The Z gives average fuel economy for what it is... its not breakthrough great but it's not horrible. 19/26 is possible, but fun goes out the door with a bootkick. Break a VQ over 30,000 miles with proper maintenence. Its very possible to get 24mpg's combineddriving a little more aggressively than when the car is brand new. The mileage is very dependent on your foot though. And I know I'm guilty of it. That's why I can't stay out of the 270-320 range. When I make an effort. I can exceed that. But I don't. In the past I have been able to bring my miles 100 miles in range on the tank in combo city driving...
Only problem is... I feel like I'm gonna fall asleep behind the wheel when I do. Lol |
450.4 miles
|
im getting 13 miles a gallon all city driving. Sucks ***

I'm about halfway through my second tank and I'm already up to about 22 MPG at 400 miles on the odo. On my first fill up, the nav reported that I had 370 miles to empty - the true namesake of our cars. Sent from my SGSII using Tapatalk 2 |
if i go 60 on the highway she gives me 320+, the minute I step on her i loose dots like no tomm, thats why i like taking it slow with her once in while. :driving:

417 miles to 16 gallons is the best i've done. Mostly highway.

For me I could care less about MPG. It is all about the smiles per miles for me.
|
^^ also true but with gas prices as they are now its better to always keep an eye on how much you are consuming, but this is for a whole tank MPG is the other thread.
|
For anyone upset about their fuel economy, the CTS-V I traded the Z for gets 15-17 mpg highway and has an 18 gallon tank. 200mi range city driving and 300 highway at 70mph. 85mph puts the range back down to about 220 mi.
No one bought these cars for fuel economy. You could always get the new vette if you have a strong desire for a 4 cylinder at times. But I much prefer enjoying the performance vehicle I opted for. |
Don't care. When it's empty, I fill it!
|
326 miles was the highest i got on 18 gallons.. and thats with mostly highway... with mostly city driving i average around 260 miles on 18 gallons
|
I traded my 2009 RX8 for my 2010 370z and one reason was the mileage. The RX8 gave me 13 in the city and 18 on the highway but it also had a much smaller tank. So, every 160 or so miles, I had to fill up.
I get 22+ on the highway! around 17+ in city. For me. If my car gets 280-320 in between fill-ups, I am happy. |
Truth is bitter gas prices are increasing! and I dont see an end. :driving:
|
500 miles.
|
501. On top...booyah lol and I have the pic to prove it
|
437, just hit reserve fuel. I figure that's another 30-40 miles maybe.
|
I fill up every weekend and usually not at 1/4 tank yet so I'm not sure how far it'll go but I sure like some of the numbers people are posting up.
|
Around 360-380 per tank for me.
|
around 420 miles all highway at 2 lights fuel
around 280 miles all city at 2 lights fuel |

I see about 16mpg daily but I did get over 50mpg once driving out to Ocotillo CA
Literally drafted the whole way until I hit the hill on the 8 than I drove up it at 55mph and coasted down the mountain in neutral. Only dropped by one dot by the time I got to Ocotillo, which is about 100+ miles away from me. |
