Honestly, it all depends on how the regional po-po's enforce it.
I grew up in Philly and EVERYONE drove 10-15 miles over the speed limit. Cops pretty much didn't care. Speed limits were usually around 35 in greater Philly area. In Tampa, speed limits are 45, most people drive a frustrating 5 miles below the ******* limit (!!!!) and cops will pull you over going a mere 7 miles over limit. Anyway, it's not the numbers so much as how people drive (down here, terribly!) and how strict the police are about it (down here, very!) |

Heck in Utah, there is a stretch of I-15 where they have raised the speed limit from 75 to 80 on test sections. Speed limits can be raised but it's not always an easy fight. There may have been complaints or safety reasons for why they lowered it. So that would be the first step is to find out why it was lowered. Contact your local news and see if they will "investigate" it.

Speed limit may be reduced on part of Panoramic Highway - Marin Independent Journal Speed limit may be reduced on part of Panoramic Highway Marin Independent Journal Posted: 06/22/2012 12:01:00 PM PDT WEST MARIN Officials may call for a slow-down on a portion of Panoramic Highway in West Marin. The Board of Supervisors on July 10 is expected to reduce the speed by 5 mph on a section of roadway from Highway 1 to Sequoia Valley Road, where the new limit would be 40 mph. The county has set a public hearing on the plan after a speed survey indicated that 45 mph was a bit too much. As usual a touchy feely thing. A bit too much. So I realize I am F'd in the A. The speed survey they are talking about must have been when more police enforcement than I had ever seen, including radar sitting and citations went on for weeks. I still count my blessings during this period. |

We should protest. 1000 cars doing 120 mph on that road and 1000 cars defying police and order... FTW ANARCHY IS FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :nutswinger: Ps. the floor is more stable than the seat for that bag. And thst how people have accidents. Playin with shyt while driving. |
Yes Texas is cool I was going down a 35 and decided to pass a guy and soon as I did I passed by cops out looking for speeders not like I was meaning to speed I was just getting around a guy... They did not even notice my speed as I passed but it was a quick 2nd to 4th shift I'll tell you into stealth mode... No you do not see me!
We have a commercial road around here too that is 35 and two lanes not many businesses. No cops I have ever seen, but you never know. I hardly ever see police doing traffic enforcement these days. In fact I hardly ever see the police. They are either really busy with other things or there are just not that many anymore. When I was a teenager if you accidentally squeeled the tires a tiny but they would pull you over. Now I see a$$holes driving 50-60 down turning lanes and if the turning lane is blocked they will just head on opposite lane of traffic to get around with cars driving towards them. Saw this happen right in front of aDPS officer the cop slowed down, but kept driving. I was like WTF! |
^^^ does anyone understand what this guy is talking about? Me neither...

I would love to, but I was only there for a wedding out in Bastrop. I CAN fly for free however, so if you don't live too far from the airport sometime I can just fly out there for the day to hang with the local Z crew hahaha. That's the best part about having a flight attendant for a wife, I got bored a few months ago and decided to go to California since I've never been there. I hopped on a plane and went. Stayed for the night, came back the next day. Hello free minication.

Airport isn't that far, and it would let me hit the 80mph toll road. Always fun! |
Haha that's fine with me! And 80mph sounds fun too lol
