Nissan's Crowd Sourced 370z :)

Nissan shows off crowdsourced 370Z

I'm sure a lot of you were apart of this build on FB, I sure was. Here is the end result!
They have a few vids on the post which are worth a watch.

Badass car!

HKYStormFront 08-09-2012 02:41 PM

i saw the project z at the unveiling at zdayz this year. i was pretty impressed with it overall but i didn't agree with some of the choices due to their vendor sources. sometimes, neither one would be what i would choose (cut off a hand or a foot, your choice?). still, it's cool to see the car done and letting the people choose how it is built. the paint and graphics came out nice and the seats were amazing

Yea I'd love to get my hands on some seats like those! Probably my favorite mod on the car actually. I wish they would have thrown F.I. exhaust in there as one of the choices though...

Cmike2780 08-09-2012 03:02 PM

Looks pretty badass.. I could do without the graphics or matte wrap though. I really want those seats.

Mt Tam I am 08-09-2012 03:12 PM

Crowdsourced is a word I'd not heard before.

Pelican170 08-09-2012 03:12 PM

Not a fan for the looks department. Something with the rims on that nismo and being lowered just dont sit right with me... I also dont like the color or stickers on it lol... and the seats are a nice shade of sh*t brown lol.. Not my taste i guess...

I do like the turbo though!

DarkJak 08-09-2012 03:19 PM

Saw this at ZdayZ too. The things I'd do for a pair of seats like those... :yum:

whoady4shoady 08-09-2012 04:02 PM

Seats FTW!

Dustin@Z1 08-09-2012 04:42 PM

I actually like the graphics. Keep in mind that the car was advertised and debuted at ZDayZ 2012. The graphics are a spin off of the Dragon Scales.

Overall I liked the car and for what it was, turned out really well. I am glad to see that Nissan thought to turn to the fans to build a theme car like this.

I do wish that they would have given us a broader range of choices when we were voting. And here's to hoping that they either raffle it off or do a charity auction with it.

recaro sporsters CS retails for $1400 each or so Recaro Sportster CS Seat

U can probably buy them for under $1,100-1200.

jae35 08-09-2012 05:34 PM

i digs it

sfearl1 08-09-2012 05:45 PM

The car as a whole looked much better in person than it does in the pics I took/have seen from ZDayZ. The wheels were fantastic in person. Honeycomb "scales" were meh.

I thought this car was already raffled off somewhere!?

DarkJak 08-09-2012 11:38 PM

Any idea who they got to upholster the seats? I make it my summer goal next year to have those in my car. Recaro Sportsters are already super nice, but the suede and diamond center inserts just bring it to a whole new level. It was awesome in person and really soft. (yes I touched part of the seat :eekdance:)

forza370z 08-09-2012 11:46 PM

I wish turbo is one of the option for our Z from Nissan!!:happydance:

Anyways here is some videos. Enjoy.

:stirthepot:

that was different. that project was commissioned by nissan to build a Juke using as many GTR components as was needed then it was turned over to the media of the world. most people outside the nissan community have no idea what the "project Z" is.

KaienZ34 08-19-2012 10:26 AM

It was at Zdayz, not a real nismo and not very impressive.

yea and it was just a collection of "off the shelf" parts from nissan partners. it's not like they did something completely custom like the Juke-R. also, there's nothing else quite like the Juke-R out there. no one else has ever shoe-horned in an R35 powertrain into anything and to do it that way was amazing. nor done it to such a production-ready level. the only thing that really interested me about the project Z was the seats. beyond that, i've seen other people do better on this forum with similar (or better) mods.

GUTCH 08-20-2012 05:09 AM

I read somewhere that the Juke-R will be available on a made to order basis.

It's true. It's not really a production car. More of a custom product from a hot rod shop.

This publicity stunt was intended to advertise the Z and it's potential at minimal cost. It's a way to guage interest. I've seen better on this forum, but it's still a pretty cool car.

Nissan has announced that its insane Juke-R super-crossover will be built, but in a very limited run and on a build-to-order basis.

The production version will stay true to the original concept, complete with a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine sourced from a GT-R supercar, advanced all-wheel drive system and top speed of 160 mph.

One difference, however, is that the production Juke-R will use the more powerful 545-horsepower engine from the latest 2013 GT-R while the concept version used the previous 485-horsepower engine.

Nissan has already received three orders for the Juke-R, which is estimated to cost close to $600k. Two of those orders, the automaker has revealed, come from high-profile members of Dubai society.

The announcement of the Juke-R's production was made during the presentation of a cinematic online movie starring the souped-up crossover and Nissan’s inaugural GT Academy winner, Lucas Ordonez.

The Juke-R was built on behalf of Nissan by motorsports and engineering firm Ray Mallock Limited (RML) in the UK. Shoehorned into its chassis is the drivetrain of a Nissan GT-R, which as you may have guessed is no easy task considering the GT-R has a shorter but wider overall footprint than the Juke.

Some of the modifications include widened wheel arches, a full bodykit, a fixed rear roof wing, the GT-R’s 20-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, and a custom roll cage. The interior was also given an extensive makeover, receiving a 4WD controller, the GT-R's touch-screen interface with all of the PS3-like goodies, and the engine control system.

Speaking at today's announcement, Gareth Dunsmore, European marketing chief for the Juke, said: “The Juke-R was originally intended as a one-off concept to marry two of Nissan’s most innovative models. But the reaction we had to the car in Dubai was amazing--people were making offers for the original on the street.”

If you happen to have a spare $200k lying around and are interested in owning this very unique vehicle, you can send in your request to Juke-R@Nissan.co.uk. Deliveries are scheduled to start this summer.

Nissan Project 370Z was completed & the car was unveiled last May @ ZdayZ.....

Don't know why it took so long to release stage 3 Video which was already posted.

Below are some of the performance enhancements given as part of the Stage 1 build, IMO they could have done better with exhaust & suspension..

1. Greddy Twin Turbo kit
2. Greddy Ti-C catback exhaust
3. KW Variant 3 coil-over suspension
4. StopTech Big Brake kit

Actual place card with all mods for Project Z located @ Nissan HQ located in TN

http://i.imgur.com/TEizX.jpg

In any case output was improved from 332 hp to 500 hp !!!!! :yum:

But unfortunately it appear that it will never go into production... :shakes head:

Would any of you trade in your current "Z" or buy this Z if it went into production?

Cmike2780 08-22-2012 08:03 AM

^^^No. Most people prefer less power. That's why my next car will be a BR-Z/FR-S :stirthepot:
