^^It's like with sportbikes. You got the riders and the posers. The poser's have 2" wide chicken stripes on either side of their rear tires :)

What do you care how others drive their cars. If i buy a lambo and drive 5 miles an hour under the speed limit and never hit the track how does it affect you? Some peoples children....:eekdance: |

This is getting off topic, but Z owners should drive however it suits them. If that means caning it, tracking it, then so be it. If that means putt-putting to car shows or on lazy cruises, then ok. But back to topic, yeah, any time you look at a used performance car, there's a greater likelihood that it has been put through the grinder than some putt putter. |

Ok car god, what else should i do? |

it all depends on how you look at it at the dealer. I'm driving an Rx8, but I never drive like crazy, slam in curves as it builds for, and never track them. I drive it under speed limit. I do believe there are some people like me out there who drive genteelly. Some people buy car just for fun to drive it. Most people wont risk their life driving fast.

This is fact!! |
Some of you children really need to grow up.
In the context of this thread, most people buy a sports vehicle to have fun with it. Accelerate fast, corner hard, wind the engine out, etc. There's a reason why the 370z has, among other things, the capable suspension, larger/wider tires, big brakes, short wheelbase, and a potent engine. Utilizing this potential does put extra wear and tear on the car. When buying used, you really don't know how it was driven, if it was properly maintained. Of course this applies to any used vehicle. But even more so with a sports car. Chances are grandpa's oldsmobile was driven much differently than the typical sports vehicle. When considering one of these cars, these factors must be considered. That's not to say that all sports cars are abused or driven erratically. When buying used, if the price spread between a used and new is relatively low and somehting you can afford, then it may very well make more sense to pay the premium and have a brand new car. @KaienZ34, since you took offense at my initial post and judging by your post count, you should drive more and spend less time on the internets. |

I, personally, will get a brand new one.

Wow. @shadoquad, exactly. The price differential for me was about $5K. Wanted a manual, but was worried about having to do a clutch job. Also, CSC failures seem to be common. I wanted a full warranty, no headaches for the foreseeable future. It made sense to just buy new. |

Your the one that was saying if we don't drive the piss out of our cars we shouldn't have one. Now your changing your story? Try and keep up here. :icon17: |

Thank you for the messages. Can I get your all's opinion on this one? It's low mileage and appears to have the sport package on it. Not sure on whether it is a touring model however.
http://www.naplesdodgechrysler.com/u...6b4017320a.htm Also - do you all have any input on reupholstering and the cost associated with that? That interior looks pretty fugly to me in spite of being leather, would probably want to get it re-done. Thanks! |
It is a base with sport with aftermarket leather installed on it. I still think it is a good price though
|
That's a base model with the sports package.
|
Does not have touring. Not bad mileage but I think they are a little high on their price. Truecars has a few near me with a little higher mileage for around $25K
Defintely not a fan of that brown. You might get lucky and find someone that swapped out their seats for racing seats that will sell you a set on the cheap. |

9000 miles is pretty low, that's why I don't think the price is outrageous |

Plus no bose shark fin antenna on the roof so non touring. |
That doesn't have the sports package. Just the rims and spoiler added on. Look closely. There's no Synchro rev match button. Not a bad thing tho snoop!

I am on the used bandwagon, just buy smart. Drive the car, see how it feels, look at the details and the nooks and crannies of the car, some abuse cannot be hidden. Only advantage to certified is the extended warranty, which 09 and 10 is not a bad idea with the oil consumption issues... 100k powertrain, sees worth it to me if you plan of beating the car, plus you can buy ans 09 and still have a warranty.
I bought my 350z used with 67k, and I know it was beat on, had been in 2 accidents, and rattled all over...I made the car my own, and got a killer deal on it. I will be trading it on a 370 very soon, and a used one to boot. low miles can be had from 25k-30k depending on features. |
A decent inspection is what, like $150? A fresh set of tires $1,500 and some fluid changes and alignment $500. Add a nice full detail at $250 and you're looking at almost $2,500 to refresh the car. Granted, not all this may be needed but new isn't that bad an option.
If $5k breaks your bank why buy a $30k+ sports car? |
Used 2011
Thanks for all the input!
I am going to go test drive this one tomorrow. Thoughts? Used 2011 Nissan 370Z For Sale | Naples FL . |
