My first post! With my new (to me) NISMO

I've been creeping around this forum for a while looking for a nismo and lucky me I found one locally (Birmingham AL). Lots of nice rides on this forum and looks like a wealth of information. I have 3 questions for you all....

1) My nismo alloy rims have what I will call break dust "stains" on them which i have not been able to rub off. Any Ideas how to get it off?

2) I need to track down an owners manual for my 09 nismo

3) Anyone have a replacement rearview mirror (for inside the cab of the car) lying around?

1. I use mothers wheel and tire cleaner and a cleaning brush or some papertowels. I know what you mean though, mine had these when I first bought it. I don't think most people clean the inside of the rim. After the first clean you won't ever have to use the brush or paper towel again if you wash regularly with a wheel cleaner. You won't need much pressure either, just a light rub will do after soaking in wheel cleaner.

2. This isn't a question.

3. You should make a WTB post in the parts for sale section.

1) try cleaner wax by mother's. it's a wax with diminishing abrasives (polish). works well.

2) check the cubby BEHIND the passenger seat. it's a secret compartment even some sales people dont know about. lol

3) can't help on this one although i do have one laying around since i swapped the factory one with a gentex homelink mirror with compass. check amazon for such gentex mirrors. check Mike's DIY on which wire to tap into. it's very easy to do. :)

i've never used mother's products but have seen them and heard good things. I'll give it a try.

Welcome. Was it in the cubby behind the seat?

You can purchase one through Nissan. And if you got your car through a dealership, they may be willing to reimburse you for it. Carmax does this.

If this was a gun, the manufacturer would rush you a manual so as not to get sued. In case you did something spelled out not to. Too bad cars are different.

Well, obviously, because cars aren't weapons and you can't kill people from incorrectly operating a vehicle... oh wait!!!

Thanks man I'm so happy to have it.

On a side note anyone have any experience with P21s Wheel cleaner? If so can you get it at wally world or any auto parts store?

kenchan 08-01-2012 01:36 PM

yah, p21 works but probably not be strong enough to remove your stain.

i suggest you still get the cleaner wax and clean/wax the wheels then use P21 (or car shampoo works just as well) for future cleaning.
