I have also been looking into getting a car cover (other then the 40th one we all got with our 40th's) I want an outdoor cover.

Up here at crappy tire (for TheGreatOne & myself or other Canadians) they are offering a outdoor cover that looked decent for around $130-150 by autoglym. I think I might be getting it soon. Like you said I have been finding my car has been sitting with a few day stretch in between lately, I wouldn't mind covering it up to keep clean. Nothing worse then cleaning the car having it sit and coming back to use it days later and it's dirty again! WTF :shakes head:

Hey guys, I bought the Silverguard Plus cover and I definitely recommend. I've yet to test it when it rains since it hasn't really rained much here in L.A. I keep my car clean and use a California Duster properly to remove light dust before I put on the cover. I also use waterless wash from Adam's. Here is the link to my post... http://www.the370z.com/40th-annivers...car-cover.html

I use a Cover King Satin Stretch indoor cover that I bought through jwmotoring.com (one of this site's sponsoring vendors). Love it. Super soft and fits my Nismo like a glove.

This is what I wanted to hear and see thanks. I’m going to look into it I was seeking something all season and this is what the dealer was offering but the price was steep. Per your link I saw that Nissan Motorsports has at a lower price.

I have used a custom fit Covercraft pretty much every weekday for the last 3 years while my Z is parked outside at work. I use a California duster every couple of days and touch up bug splats or other grime with quick detailer and a microfiber cloth as needed. It's garaged at night. No problems with scratching the finish. Don't buy a cheap cover, it's not worth it. Go to the Covercraft website and read up on the different type materials and their applications. They all have different design parameters.

Thanks for the business!

The OEM covers are made by Coverking which we can get. We just can't offer the Z logos.

didn't want to create a new thread

Anyone clean their indoor satin car cover yet? After storage for 2 winters, I'd say I've gotten some dirt and loose leaf crap on the inside.

I searched online, I've seen that some other satin car covers say you can put it in the washing machine (some sites have said use a commercial one) I have a front loader, so no crap in the middle which another site I found said was fine

Just wanted to see if anyone else has cleaned theirs...and how?

I will second that. I have the oem satin stretch nismo logo one as mine is stored inside. When I ordered it from nissan it was drop shipped from Coverking. Fantastic indoor cover. Amazing fit and finish.

I have yet to wash mine but basically it said to hand wash without detergent. I was thinking of same thing since I have HE front load washer without agitator. I've just been afraid to wash the cover yet.

I use an indoor cover only.

kenchan 04-05-2014 08:51 AM

i use car covers inside the garage only during hibernation. mostly to keep dust and spiders away.

Mandingo 04-05-2014 02:07 PM

^Spiders seem to be attracted to my Z too! Thought I was the only one.

I bought an OEM cover off a forum member and it has been great. Leaf pieces do tend to stick to the satin pretty well so be extra careful to not let the cover touch the floor of the garage at all. I pick off the leaves as best as I can then wash by hand

I ended up washing on delicate and it came out just perfect. Minimal detergent.

Did a short dry cycle on super delicate, no shrinkage. I've onyl used my OEM satin cover during winter storage but I may use after a wash when I know I may not use it for a couple days.

Thanks for testing the washing process. Now I know what to do.

Have a great day.
