but back then... no nismo model. |
If they make the Nismo like the next IPL G coupe it would be awesome, but I doubt that will happen. 530 hp TT V6 :yum:

It would be really cool if they brought back a turbo V6 with a stout set of internals that would allow you to make some fairly minor warranty-voiding changes and make 400 whp or so. :D Not sure how it would do from a sales or profit standpoint, though. |

ok my 2 cents. the 370 was introduced with bad timing. by that i mean it came out when the camaro, 5.0 stang challenger all with v8's were coming out or already out. and the 370 got lost or caught up in that bunch......
we all know the 370 looks better than the above cars and rides and handle's better than the above cars.... also imho there's not a car made for 40g or under that's better than a 370 and i'm talking about rear wheel drive 2 seat sports cars. the 370 is meant for a chosen few, hey we're special people :ughdance: all that being said and i love my car but if nissian doesn't increase hp to at least 375hp, 400 would be better. i'm on the fence about looking else where..... can you imagine a new 400z. you would need to go to a track to learn how to drive it. well at least i would..... sorry to ramble..... |
I feel the same way Sonic. It was also bad timing because of the economy crashing. Unfortunately for the Z, having 2 seats makes it less practical. This may have caused some potential buyers to switch to other cars that have 4 seats and more space.

People always/usually expect new generation has to be bigger displacement, more horses, better here and more there.
No one mention/think about the price... How much a V8 or 400hp Fairlady should price at?? 30K? Is it possible? Surely, when the overall quality has to be lowered to compensate the cost. 40K+?? General public might consider other brands, especially European brands. Some say a FI Fairlady, some say a V8, some say with a turbo option..... How much money do you want Nissan to spend on the development of the next Z? Or... be realistic, how much do you think Nissan will spend on the development of the next Z??? Some say cross-platform... alright, it could work, and how much are you willing to pay for a V8 Fairlady? Or... be realistic, how much do you think the general public will spend on a Japanese car?? Yes, horsepower is important for a sports car, but other factors are also as same important in the formula of strong sales. Look at Toyota Supra, very good sports car, strong horsepower, it make huge noise when it first came out... turbo, lots of horsepower blah blah blah... and Toyota withdrawn it from the North American market after years of its weak sales... because of its hefty price tag on a Japanese car.... Imagine, the next Z got those upgrades such as horsepower, FI options... what will the price tag look like?? Bad timing on the introduction of 370z, surely. And currently the economy is not any better than couple years ago.... do you think it's a good time to introduce a new but more expensive Z?? my CAD$0.02 :tiphat: |
alcheng, Your CAD $0.02 is worth just as much as our US $0.02 :icon17:
