Anybody Been to a Bee Clean Carwash?

There is this excellent automated carwash in San Antonio. I took my SUV through but, unsure if my Z sits too low.

MattP725 07-23-2012 11:49 AM

Automatic car washes are for people that can't live without scraped wheels and swirl marks.

NBZ34 07-23-2012 11:59 AM

No way i would let those chamois flaps touch my Z! Otherwise, yes.. its a nice carwash - taken my SUV there a few times.

Maybe if your Z is White...

But Dark colors ? No auto car wash ever, never, ever.

Apoc370z 07-23-2012 12:47 PM

Just wash your car yourself..

NO Carwashes for me, not in my Z at least, I rather do it myself and it takes about 30 min tops.

kenchan 07-23-2012 12:58 PM

this is like the second time you've been called a racist, bucket. :icon17:

whoady4shoady 07-23-2012 01:20 PM

You might as well piss in a rusty bucket and then dip a pinecone as your wash mitt.

It would be a cold day in hell before I take any of my cars to a car wash. And just because the paint is a light color menas the swirls may be less obvious, but they are still there nonetheless.

Just wash it yourself, which can be done in the time it takes to drive to the car wash, wait for the car to be done, then drive wherever you are going after.

Impossible to do it properly in 15 minutes. It usually takes me at least an hour to wash from start to finish, including drying the car. Knowing how many hours it takes to correct the paint from bad car wash habbits, you realize that it's not that much more work to wash it properly and avoid swirl marks in the paint.

NBZ34 07-23-2012 03:54 PM

Takes me on avg about 1.5 to 2 hours to wash.

1. Pretreat wheels and bugs on bumper
2. Rinse
3. Foam gun
4. 2 bucket method with grit guards in both
5. Rinse spray
6. Rinse sheeting method
7. Dry with leaf blower
8. QD spray and wipe down

My wheels alone take over 15 min.

lemon-fresh 07-23-2012 04:08 PM

there are touch-less car washes...

kenchan 07-23-2012 04:09 PM

yah, i use a shopvac in blower mode to get all the water out and stuff before i blot so the drying process itself takes like 15min. wash itself is probably 10-12min as i dont like leaving soap on the paint too long.

Not to mention the special effort needed to get rid of all those especially stubborn specs .. i use a gentle polishing square pad to remove them by hand..
But it's all a labor of love and sure beats painting the house or cutting the damn grass!..

Agreed. After i get done washing the car, it gives me that feeling of badasery, and then eventually a bird comes and ***** on my parade.

Garage=Gym. Not gonna happen. I was talking about when parked other places anyway. Got to bring the car out eventually.
