But really Nissan already has a "sporty looking ish" FWD coupe. When I think of a cheap RWD sporty car I think the Miata has that covered. |
If this car is great ONLY cuz it has turbos... we should all have GTI's, velosters and Mazdaspeeds just cuz they have turbos. then the gencoupe 2.slow is better than the Z cuz it has turbos and rwd
As a ordinary DD this works as a car that's fun to drive... cool. As an FR-S challenger? less torque band, no turbos and all... you will never duplicate the responsiveness of RWD... not to mention cornering, potentially the most important aptitude in performance driving. This thing will be a great car to compete against cooper and gti. imho... it should be a versa sport, not a mini Z. |
I feel like a lot of you missed the point that it's primarily being made for China and IS NOT COMING TO THE US!

So in the event of that small possibility? im just saying... Direct quote from MT "China is thought to be the car's main market, but Japan and some European countries are destined to receive small batches as well, with the U.S. still under consideration." One nice thing about Z's is that the quality control was done in Japan.
If I can buy something not made in China, and it costs up to ten times more, I do. Ten times and I draw the line. |

Exactly as I predicted a year ago. All signs were there. Nissan execs making statements about going to lower displacement motors, all development on Z34 abruptly halted, platform sharing pushed hard at Renault. I think we have last 6 cylinder Zs made.

i always crack up when a team member at work tells me things he/she knew it was coming AFTER it happens. |

will not matter to me, they will probably make so small, that I will not fit in it (6' 2"), its the same for me with the BRZ cannot fit.
|
Here is the easy win => 1.) Use the current 3.7. 2.) Use the design in the first photo. 3.) RWD
:) |
hold onto your Z's ladies and Gents we down sizing
with the economy the way it is.... more people unemployed than working.... car companies are forced to adapt |

Not sure that I buy that. First, this "Mini Z" is a FWD hot hatch for China. Second, the economy's been crap for a long time. People have been expecting the death of performance cars for a while, but it hasn't happened. Hell, the government tried to tell us that we all wanted electric vehicles. Well, they're on the market, and they're not selling well. Third, used vehicles are available, public transportation is available, and people with jobs still want cars because they give them independence. |

who knows. for all we know (since we arent insiders ) they could continue the Z as it is AND bring out a "more affordable Z" with the 'downsize'... best of both worlds? who knows for sure? we dont.... we just guess lol |
