Nearly collided with a Mini!!
I nearly got into a head-on collision today with a Mini!! She decided to immediately turn left on green when I was just entering the intersection! Slammed on the breaks, tires squealed and I stalled....my heart was racing, I was so scared; I stopped inches away from them and they wouldn't have noticed me if I hadn't honked!!! This is my first time honking my new baby's horn.... and WHY does it have to be an Asian female driver in the Mini? That just perpetuate the stereotype about Asian female drivers, and we're not all like that! I hate that!
I'm just SO GLAD we didn't collide, and no damage. But STILL SO shocking. Just had to vent... I'm alright now. Thanks for listening! |
Thank goodness you're alright, and your car is too.
|
Glad to know nothing happened. But it's not just women its careless people overall that will drive this way.
|
praise the lord
1) (first and foremost) your ok 2) the Car was unharmed 3) no accident :) |
Sounds like yet another driver with a thumb up their a$$
|
Being an Asian, I am also sad to hear that the driver was Asian female, but of all the Asian females I know, none of them drive well, and many don't even drive at all.
|
Good to hear that you're okay. But both sexes and all races will do inattentive things. Be thankful you have a car with great brakes!!!
|
Sorry to say this, but the last bad winter up here we had I saw more asain females stuck on the side of the road in BMWs than any other. I have actually seen a woman driving and reading a BOOK while on the highway! Don't worry, she was white...
|
Sorry. Not at all surprised! I've had them come to a complete stop on an entrance ramp because they were looking at a map while traffic is trying to speed up to merge. Typical and in Northern VA, it’s the worst I’ve seen anywhere. :shakes head: However, I'm not indicating that "Women" as a gender can't drive, but there are a lot truths to stereotypes. Unfortunately for me, every accident or near accident has been is was caused by a female driver. The worst in my area are the moms in the SUV's or Mini Vans that do 50 MPH in the passing lanes, don't check their blind spots, don’t use blinkers, and flick people the finger when someone returns the favor. The worst part is it’s usually a car full of kids....Then again, I guess I'd be pissed at the world too if I had to drive mini-van. Ohhhhhhhh! Just kidding.....:)

Wow! Alls well that ends well-glad the collision was a near miss!
Had the same thing happen to me in my Civic with my little girl asleep in the back seat, practice drifting in Mario Kart saved us 'cause thats what i had to do to avoid a huge work truck and a 16 foot trailer carrying four-wheelers. It does test your heart! Really glad you and baby are ok! |
This is the reason why I want a motorcycle, but will never actually own one.
I can drive as carefully as I can but losing my life to someone who is not paying attention doesn't sound like something I want to do... |
asian women hitting each other would be like an i told you so moment. :icon17:
good to hear you and your car is okay. |
Lol, you should drive in Richmond, BC. HAHAHA!!!!
|
I was going to say driving in Vancouver is your problem lol. I almost got run over by some teenage Asian (male) last year in a cross walk. It was kind of funny because he made a lot tire screeching and all the locals started yelling and heckling the kid. I half wish I had gotten hit, kid was driving a brand new Audi A8, I'm pretty sure his parents are loaded.

Last time I got in the car with an Asian female driver she hit an ambulance :shakes head:

Thanks all for your well wishes! I am glad that me and my baby are okay and no actual collision occurred!! Which motivates me now that I have to learn defensive driving.....

I know your sentiments exactly!!! |
I go to Richmond everyday.

Did you chew her out and let her know what an idiot she was? The problem with the Asian drivers who suck (I am Asian, BTW) is that they have no awareness of anything outside of their car since they are completely self centered and inconsiderate. Nothing else matters to them other than themselves. I have noticed that the Asians born here are better than the ones who are straight here from the mainland (China).
On a different note, I once saw an old white lady stop in the middle of an intersection while turning because the light went red. That is a completely different story, though. Old people... |
Richmond - land of headless drivers. :shakes head:
|
Glad you're okay and all is well. I know how you feel when I drive down to my city's Chinatown area. I take extra precaution.

I understand exactly how you feel :) being asian and living in Richmond, I have been almost side scraped by ML/Q7/MDX/X6 so many times that it's just second nature to me nowadays. I think they need to make people with records of dangerous driving/accidents retake the license every year with the car they drive daily... so many drivers of SUVs don't even bother shoulder checking T_T

It woulda elevated it from stereotype to indisputable fact. :rofl2: That's why I hate when I have to ride my bike on the I-10 through the Alhambra area in SoCal. And Op, I'm glad everything turned out ok. |
Makes me think of this local news: 13 young drivers caught racing luxury cars | British Columbia
This story pisses me off. Reckless spoiled brats endangering others. If I was rich I wouldn't spoil my kids (if I had any) because it just makes them into wuss-*** little douchebags. They'd be lucky if the Civic or Versa class car they get is new. |

I had to work hard for everything, and when I finally bought my Z, it's my first car ever, and I bought it myself after completing school. Before that, I took the bus like everyone else. Nothing ever came easy for me, but I persevered through it. And so I can really appreciate things and be thankful for overcoming hardships. |

Im glad that everything was okay and no damage to either party. I almost had one of those last month as well. When I honked my baby's horn the dude in the car was on his cell phone. I wanted to get out and beat his AZZZZ.
