dreaded 6th gear grind....

so the last couple times i have driven my car i have had it grind multiple times going into 6th with the clutch fully (yes i made sure) depressed. from everything i read online this points to a syncro going out and a trans replacement  (hoping not)

i am the 3rd owner of my 09, but the car only has 20k on it. should a nissan dealership be giving me any crap by not covering this under the standard 3 year 36,000 warranty because i am not the original owner? going into the dealership at 1 and need to know exactly what im getting into.

again, keeping in mind that since this is an 09 with 20k, i am still within the 3 year 36k vehicle warranty (i think?)

anyone who has had to deal with similar issues that has any advice would be greatly appreciated

(ALSO, my car is dyno tuned. should i get this tune taken off before i run the car into the dealership?)

Likely YES.

do you know the original purchase date of the z? if it is before 6/30/09 pretty sure your warranty is gone (obviously tomorrow it would be 7/1/09, etc)

probably be a good idea to put your cats back on too.... if you expect a warranty repair

took it in just now, although my 3 yr 36k miles was expired (by 2 months), my 5 year 60k warranty was still in effect too. good thing too, because the master tech said im looking at getting a new trans, whidh he said was covered under powertrain. didnt ask me anything about tp's or tuning or any of that, so i didnt volunteer the info to them
