Awesome service at my local Nissan dealership
I was there a few months ago for some routine maintenance and filled out the emailed survey afterwards. They always do a good job so I gave them good marks. There was a fill in the blank area asking if they could improve the snack area. Since I usually wait on my vehicle, I typed in "donuts in the waiting area".
Fast forward to today. I go in for an oil change and met with the service tech that I always meet with. I go into the waiting room and start reading a book. A few minutes later he showed up with a box of Dunkin Donuts. That's great service right there! Share your tales of good experiences at dealerships, since we usually only focus on the negative ones. |
The Nissan sign sure looks shiney as I'm driving past it to a shop that doesn't try to leech every penny out of you. :happydance:

Their are pros and cons in going with the stealership as I like to call it but I'll being going to a dealer for all my cars needs. Atleast while it's still under warrantie. Just be smart and still shop around. Great customer service experience though. Wish I got that treatment with budget car rental :icon17:!

agreed, dealerships, more often than not, charge you more than if you were to go someplace else. thats just common knowledge...to every car buyer out thereand if one does deal with the dealership.... be weary of their sly tactic's to entice you, then slam the door behind you , lock and throw away the key like you were the red headed Step child from hell. do your Homework:tup:

I like this thread since everywhere else I saw are negative things about dealership. But it's not all like that. If you go there and trying to be a pain in the a$$, of course they will give you hard time too. I usually be nice to them especially I gave them work to do while I don't need to pay for a penny(under the warranty). Sometimes I know they over charge me, but I only show them how I appreciate the work they've done on my car afterwards coz I know one day that will be paid off. Of course I will only let them over charge me small money...
Now look, the guys from Nissan and Infiniti become my best friend. I had my z hit a speed bumper damaged entire underbody, cats and caused leak from exhaust header. The SES light was on all the time. I brought the car to the dealership. They knew I got a hit but they didn't say anything and replaced cats, header, O2 sensors for me for free. I got a Xterra for winter, but it didn't come with remote keyless entry. The guy there just gave me one used for free too. And even now I go change oil, they will give me free loaner sometimes. And what's the best? Sometimes they will give me a quote on a fix, but off the line, they will tell me the truth if it worth it or not or if there is any bypass fixes that will cost much less... I know dealership always charge more than other places and that's what they do. But people works there are human just like us. If you make good relationship with them they will help you out too. So why not make your life easier. |
Oh but in my case, I sometimes bring donuts to them!:bowrofl:
|
donuts? man the most i ever get from a dealership is a cup of water and thats only when im planning on buying a car so of course they will give me a free cup of water just to suck me in...
|
I'm a sucker for donuts.:yum:

It's nice to read about a positive experience at a dealership for a change.

Brought my Z into Sutherlin Nissan, Mall of Georgia for ABS/Slip and VDC lights. Called them at 5 minutes before closing on a wed. night and said Ihad a track day on saturday.
They asked what mods I had, I said too many and I didn't expect warranty service. They found some rubber deposits from track marbles in between my wheel sensor in the hub and didn't charge me anything, even though they put at least two hours into it. |
Good to hear a great experience, a majority of people's experience are the complete opposite lol.

My dealer is usually very competitive with maintenence prices and gave me huge discount quotes on NISMO exhaust and suspension. (I'm considering nismo shocks on swift springs). I can't really post the actual price but its hundreds lower than your internet guys with no shipping costs. Hail storm happened on a Wednesday, service appt was for Tuesday. And a bunch of other great services they provide me. Of course I'm a repeat customer. But with time they have been more loyal instead of vice versa. Which a lot of dealerships end up doing. 2 bad experiences in 5 years and they were quickly rectified and was vouchered free synthetic oil changes of my choice of oil along with free handwah, vacuum and tire dressing.. I really can't complain.

I really think those that paint all the dealerships with the same brush may be unnecessarily cutting out a good option. The dealership I bought my car from was great on price, great on service but absolutely horrible on the delivery of cars. So I get my car serviced at a different dealership.
The second dealership may have been good on price when buying the car, they just didn;t have ehat I wanted. What they did that impressed me was be up front about the wait time when I showed up. It seems they had 2 techs call out that day. Then I had a question about some "extra" parts that were in the hatch area of the car when I bought it. It turns out that these parts were the front air dam and the two air deflectors for the front tires that the original dealership "forgot" to install. They installed them for free. I know it wasn't a whole lot of time but this was my first visit and I didn't even buy the car there. Dealerships also are the first to know about recalls and other information about our cars. Chances are if you build a good relationship with them they'll take care of you in these matters. |
North Coast Nissan
I really like my dealership. Great place to relax while they service . Coffee, TV, clean and friendly people everywhere.. I enjoy the visits.

dealership i leased the Z from was the worst experience ever, they tried to play detective work to approve me for the loan and then come up with extra fees after the initial signature. Almost fought the general manager after a crazy verbal outlash when he passed me around his payroll guys playing games, disrespecting me to the highest degree.
A bunch of lowlives that raise my bloodpressure and make me rage |
I have a great relationship with my dealership. They are very competitive on pricing and want to learn about the 370Z so the Service Mgr is quick to help out. He actually is the one that changed my hatch springs several years ago. I think he is a subscriber of this site and monitors for our input.
