depend son what you want out of it. Stock is great for many, others want more go or show, or a mix. It really depends on what your goals are. But yes, with black, there will be much washing in your future.
|
yeah i just waxed it, its already dusty :(
|
Get a clear bra on it ASAP!!! Then go from there
|
Pay it off. If you've already paid it off in full, then whatever you want.
|
Suspension! PANK that sh*ttt!!!!

You should tell us what you do with it beyond driving it normally. If you are just enjoying it as is, ie, no track or autocross then stock is probably good. Its faster than the law allows from the get go. It corners beyond the average driver and is a more than respectable and capable sportscar. Im in Germany. Speed is life. I have ZERO mods but an oil cooler from Z1 motorsports. In this country Im not getting pushed around the Autobahn much unless it has much more power. Im stock. Honestly the best thing I did was getting MICHELIN Pilot Super Sports. It changes the car in the most wonderful way. That should be your first change if you do any at all. :) :driving: |
Exhaust would be the first thing. The stock setup is just way too quiet. If you don't want to go too crazy, also install lowering springs & wheel spacers. Get a lip kit you like and call it a day. You don't need to do a whole lot to make this car look good, but it's fun to be a little bit unique.

I have a black sport as well. I did suspension first and then exhaust shortly afterwards. Lowering the car made it look much better and the improved ride is a joy through the corners.
Your first purchase should probably be car cleaning products and good wax. You will use it more than any other modification. :icon17: One thing I do recommend though is to look at photos of other members cars to get an idea of what kind of modifications you want to make. |
SPACERS. Makes the stance much better and more aggressive. Good bang for the buck.

I really regret not getting a clear bra on mine. Now the whole front needs to be repainted before I throw a bra on it. |
I owned a black 2nd gen G35S, the upkeep was a pain but black is jus so sexy when clean!!! No regreats on that color choice. So I bought the Magnetic black Z, still a pain to clean but I'm sorry I still peak out of the window just to see it sometimes. I have myu detail guy come to the job every Monday for a cleaning so no headaches there. I have ordered the carbon fiber fast intentions exhaust, BC BR coilovers and SPC control arms and camber. Think I'm gonna do the Work Gnosis wheels just trying to decide color. After that I'm done...just doesn't need anything else IMO. It's pretty sick stock aside from that nasty fender/wheel gap. Nothing the coilovers can't handle.

wow, i need like 10 of those stickers! where can I order them? Is there a separate sticker for torque or does this cover that also?

Go out right now and trade it for a Boxster which gets better gas mileage.:ughdance:

^^...lol..

My first mod was an oil cooler and have never regretted it.

If you are not into modding for every ounce of power and want to spend minimal amounts of $ doing so, then I'd get some K&N drop in filters, post maf HPS or Z1 silicone tubes, modshack's fang mod (not really needed but still good), a relatively cheap exhaust like topspeed, y-pipe, and a tune and call it a day.
First mod: K&N drop in filters + post maf HPS or Z1 silicone tubes |

A better option is to just get a nice, clean microfiber cloth, then use a bit of instant detailer to polish the car continually. Spray-on wax has come a LONG way since only a few years ago so it might be a good idea to try that stuff. You know, avoid tennis elbow. |
Have the car tinted. It makes the car looks much better & cuts down the sun heat a lot especially on the black color in summer time.
