Purchase 370Z

Hi all,

First post here. Don't own a 370z...yet. Hoping to get one within the next few weeks.

Two questions may need you experts to shad some light. I was in the dealer but didn't belive the sales person.

1. Consider the size of this car, I'd say it has a HUGE trunk. Since the trunk is glass top, I'd expect trunk cover is available. Don't want anyone to peek what I haul. The sales person said trunk cover is not available. Is this true?

2. The specific combination I like is Touring + Navigaion. Don't need the sport package. I'm almost old enough to get senior discounts here and there, so super sharp handling isn't what I need. The sales person said such combination is not possible. If I want the NAV, I'll have to purchase the sport package. True?

Many thanks in advance.

1. I don't know about newer 370z's, but '09 and '10 models CERTAINLY had an available cargo cover in the rear if you elected for the touring package. Non-touring, however, does not.

2. That can't be true, although I'm no expert. It just makes no sense.

Both are false. Find a new dealer or salesperson that knows what they are talking about. It may be harder to find a Touring + Nav only in the color you want but its doable especially if you are ordering a '13 model.

Maybe they were confused. You can't get Nav without the Touring Package, but you can without Sports.

Welcome to the forum!

Find a new salesman or dealer. Sounds like they just want to unload their invetory on you.

try the "build your own" at nissanusa, and bring a print out to your talented salesman.

and please dont drive the Z super slow on the streets... like old folks do :ugh2:

The cargo cover comes standard with the touring, but can also be bought as a factory accessory as well for the base

Really? I thought the C pillar has a completely different piece with the rear hatch cover

It is. You cannot put the cargo cover on a stock non-touring Z. I know, it was one of the first things I asked Lou Fusz to price for me.

Thanks guys. I tried to google and ebay for 370z photos. You guys are absolutely correct. Cargo cover IS avaiable.

Good point. Even though I'm a soon-to-be senior citizen, I promise, if I get a 370z, I'll try to keep up with the traffic flow =P

did you try the build your own? the best zing you give a talented sales person is by showing him/her they dont know wat the f- they're talking about. :icon17:

thanks for respecting the rules of the road. 50mph does not mean you can go 35mph and look like a 2mile long locomotive. :ugh2:

Hmmm, I beg to differ. As we know the NISMO is nothing but a base model Z with upgrades for performance. I was able to buy the cargo cover and it snapped right into place on the pillars. Now I can put things in my trunk without worry.

Oh, is it?

Ok, I'll admit I'm wrong when you find a non-nismo, non-touring Z that has also done this.

You'll know where to find me.

Have fun searching.

I'm 64 now and drive my 370Z I bought in '09 "maturely." I've enjoyed every minute of ownership since I bought her in 2009. She's 2.5 years old now with 8,000 miles and still looks showroom new and turns heads!
Our Z's are made to be driven and enjoyed in many ways, even by us "old folks!"
