Miles or time?

As I reviewed the 370Z Owners manual and subsequently the Service and Maintenance manual, a question popped up. Well actually many but I wanted to hear from the experts here on their opinion.

Based on my driving habits, I usually rack up only 7-8K miles per year. According to the manual, they want service at 3750 miles or 3 months and so on. I only log about 600 - 700 miles a month or 1800 - 2100 miles every 3 months.

So there is the question. Do I do the recommended service by miles or months.

Oh, for those of you that will want more detail. Most of my driving is in Houston Texas where it is Africa hot and humid (I think today was 98 degrees with a billion percent humidity). My drive to work is about 10 miles of suburban driving. Only have about a 1 mile stretch there I get into a little stop light traffic. So I consider that fairly tame driving. - I know why did I get this car, I could have gotten a Kia van!!

I'd go with miles. The 3 month Nissan number assumes the average 12-15K miles/yr.

So I assume for the short period of time (i.e. 6 months) that it will take me to get to 3750 intervals, the oil will not go bad?

I suppose later in life, I will do some things time based like changing the belts?

I go 6 months in my low mileage vehicles. Just make sure you open it up once a week so in a slightly extended drive to burn off contaminants in the oil, especially moisture.

1400

Changed mine at 1400 and owned the car for only a month and a half. If you have been following the forum than you already know.......change it yourself bro and save the hassle. Im in Corpus Christ, so I hear ya on the heat and humidity. Sucks
