My only thing on the Z is comfort. My knees give me issues on longer trips.

Well, that and the weak paint, and expensive tires...

Having now completed my 4,200+ mile trip (see: http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...ther-road.html ) I can say with some authority that you can certainly take your Z.

I did find that space can be a premium when packing enough cloths and other goods for a trip that long but I managed Ok.

I also will say that long stints behind the wheel can be a bit uncomfortable - there are only so many ways/places you can put your legs/feet and/or move around to keep the blood flowing so stopping at least every couple of hours (rest areas, gasoline, etc) is a good idea.

That said, for a two-seat performance sports car, the 370 ain't bad on a long trip and better than most if not every other in this category plus it's a lot of fun!!!

Back in the early 90's my great-grandmother drove her 300zx from Colorado to Michigan. Now I know the thread is about 370's, but if a lady in her 70s (at the time, she's about 92 now) was able to do it in a 300, you have no excuse not to do it in your 370. :)

They have those clear 3M tape on bras. Tests have proven it can deflect
Small pebbles at 60 mph without damaging the bra.
70mph damage only to the bra. But I heard some people getting
Good protection up to 80mph.
Price is between $600 to $800 and has a warranty.
Not sure for how long but I've heard some people say 1 year.
Others up to 3yrs.

780 mile trip report.....

Took the Z on a 780 mile weekend roadtrip to the Shenandoah Valley, Va. The Z ran great. Oil temp. did not go above 220 degrees, even with some pretty aggressive hill climbing in the mountains. The yellow color attracts a nice assortment of bugs, which hover about and land on the car, in addition to those splattered on the grille. An annoying squeak was identified as coming from the plastic molding on the passenger rear where the hatch rests. Mileage was around 25 m.p.g. overall.

3000 miles last week

Last week we ran 3000 miles out to the "Badlands" then on to "Mt Rushmore" and then turning south to "Pikes Peak" in our new 370. At that point we then turned east and returned home. This trip this year concluded the trip we started last year in our old 350 when we went to the desert south west then west coast and on to the Pacific northwest before returning home after 6998 miles. On that trip we were in the Z for a month. The trip last week was just six days. My 65 year old wife says the Z's ride just as nice as her 300C even for those distances.
:tiphat:

Road trips is one of the main reasons for getting this car in the first place! Can't wait to take it for a family visit in Virginia sometime later this year. Hope to hit the tail of the dragon while we're there as well. Heard it's a blast.

The self-sealing paint is an option in the UK, don't know why it's not available here. Does anyone know if it actually works?

I took a trip to Cape Canaveral to watch the shuttle take off, caught a few chips on the bumper, but what is a Z without battle scars?

I just drove 360 miles round trip last Saturday. I filled up the tank just beforehand and still had 45 miles on the countdown readout when I got home. That's a ways on one tank! (It even included a few triple digit runs)

Drive it like you love it. If it was an F50 I would've done the same thing.

Whoever said "I refuse to own a car I'm afraid to drive" has got it right.

MY Road Trip

I bought my Z in February of 2009 and in October I drove it from Southern New Hampshire to Auburn Alabama. Even hit the Tail of the Dragon in Tenn/NC . Z has a great cruise range of 400+ and I was able to stay away from a ticket which to me was the bigger celebration. I had a blast and would do it again in a minute. As much as I love the car if you cannot drive it and enjoy it,why buy it. Have a blast!
